Default IRCHA 2018 in the books!

I’ve just finished attending IRCHA 2018!
That’s 3 in a row!
It was a great deal of fun, I was able to hang out with my Gasser friends and chit chat and I even learned new things!
I even managed to get in two Gasser flights despite having no helis with me!
Big thank yous to Tom for letting me fly his Goblin Gasser and to Raja for letting me fly his Whiplash Gas!
I really appreciate it guys!!!!
Talked to a lot of people and even finally got to meet Toxic Al in person!
A real treat!

Had a great and saw some amazing flying.
I cannot wait until next year!

I also had a great time meeting you and the guys on Thursday! I will try to reserve more time for IRCHA next year. I wouldn't mind getting more than a couple flights in.

Default I'm still there!

Was out flying relaxed today some big air stuff that I can't do as well back home with all the open space here. I landed the last heli flight at IRCHA at 7:49pm, flight number 3300 on the Spectra-g (I had to do it couldn't go home with 3299) logged this evening closing out IRCHA.

Josef got some flights in the first time today this whole week, Tony did about 7 flights today, Larry had a couple and Lukas disappointed me when he flamed out on his Whiplash nitro and crashed even though he was "a mile high" by my standards. Wasn't really that high (150 feet?) but I definitely would have saved it. Caught on video.

We had a little "extra fun" with some supplies from Ryan. Now just chilling with MA at the hotel with a couple of beers and tomorrow will start the trek back home.

I hope the new guy who went to IRCHA is enjoying that green Jeti Kandace. It's a nice radio. I hated to see Indo give it up.

You really should have...! I lost count how many people tried my gasser, even one guy Leroy yesterday. Free check rides for everyone

I just arrived at Larry's house about an hour ago. One more day of driving before I make it home.

Thumbs up Finally got home early this morning

Pulled in about 12:30am after stopping on the way from Larry's in Danbury to get some grub and recharge my car. Ended up driving 2008 miles for IRCHA 2018 trip....! I could have driven 2018 miles if I stayed on the highway (it was 10 miles longer) but I decided to get off early in CT and take the country road home (most direct way) to use up my battery that I recharged at Outback.

Enjoyed it to the max, it was great to see everyone there

I was quite surprised when I saw it for sale. He wanted it quite badly!

It is a very nice radio.
About the only disadvantage to the Jeti TXís is they are heavy.
I liked it quite a lot.

maybe it was a good thing I didn't fly raja's heli. I would have seen how poorly mine flies.

Default IRCHA 2018

Yes, it was terrific to see everyone at IRCHA! Thanks for so many great conversations and educational moments.

No helicopters with me to fly, and I did not try to bump Raja in the head to take his TX and fly. Next year though, I will have an ample supply of helis to participate in the noon demos. At a field far in the background!

I have not heard how the attendance compared with last year, but just from what I remember, I thought there were more people this year. I had a visit with many people and vendor representatives as well. Sure, there could have been more "stores" setup, but for me that was not necessary. After getting back to Florida, I ordered 6 new servos, and a few other miscellaneous items, so I can still spend the money, even from home!

I have two Spirit FBLs. They just came out with a GPS add-on that I purchased a few days ago. It has Position Hold, so that I can take my Whiplash up to 50 feet, fly for a while, engage Position Hold, and let the heli stay put while I get a drink refill.

Happy Flying all!

Steve

I read these IRCHA threads every year and say I am going to go. As long as work does not get in the way I believe IRCHA 2019 will be my first. Picked up a place to stay today, hopefully I can get a campsite on location with water and electricity.

Nice portable home, so you are 1/2 way there. Don't procrastinate, just make plans! You will have a great time.

I was in the same boat as you. Iíve been saying I was going since the late 90s and never have. This year I decided that I need to make it a priority since Iím not getting younger and at my son has been more interested in helis lately. Let me tell you, Iím kicking myself for not going sooner. We had an amazing time and met so many people from here and the industry it was great. Iíve never see. Flying on that level and itís improved my flying since watching it.

I will make it a priority from here on out. It is a great event.
