Default How do you fit a Kosmic Cool on a 700 xxtreme?

Does any one know how to get a Kosmic 160 to fit on the 700 XXtreme? the issue are the cooling fins -would cutting the side frames down to the CF plate work?

thank you

you can try one of these. D135 Kosmik ESC mounting set

I bought a used 700xx with a Kosmik 160 mounted with the above part seemed to fit fine under the canopy fine. The previous owner did use that real stiff Velcro type stuff instead of the spacers and bolts to mount the carbon bracket to the heli.

There were some examples of this a while ago. The key was to move the Kosmik forward. I was going to use a mounting plate for my 800 XXTREME but instead went with tie wrapping the ESC directly to the frame via four holes and the four ESC mounting points with some rubber covering the frame and providing some shock absorption. It reduced the height but not sure if the profile would low enough for a Kool on a 700 XXTREME.

Default Installed Kosmik

The YGE 160 I had planned on using decided to quite working for some reason, very frustrating. But luckily I bought the Kosmik that the guy selling the 700xx had because it was a good price with the heli. I just got finished installing it. As it turned out it is important to get the ESC close to the frame, if the risers are much taller than in the pictures the top of the ESC will start to hit the canopy. By some kind of miracle the local Ace Hardware had all the hardware I needed; risers, bolts, and washers.

Might be a bit tight being that high up with the fins from a Kool. One mount method I remember cut off the portions of the CF extending on the side frames beyond the mounting CF. That allowed the ESC to be further lowered.

Yeah, I don't think your are going to get a Kosmik Cool under the canopy without some major modifications to the frame, or at least mounting the ESC a lot lower on the mount plate.
