Default Anyone try a driffrent heli canopy on the 180? Upgrade Time!

So the other day i was looking/comparing dads 230S to my 450x and my 180 cfx. the canopy from the 230s fits and looks kinda cool, but i know it would be heavy. I was thinking i wonder if the 200srx heli canopy would work. or maybe even a Goblin 180 canopy. I really want a full fuse like the goblin for mine. but its just so hard for me to spend $35-50 on a 280 sized canopy when i found one for a 500 for like the same price.

No way a goblin 280 will fit on a 180, its almost bigger than the heli itself lol. Check microheli for canopies/fuses, but yeah they're not cheap.

I fly a modified 130X canopy on mine, I just made new holes further back and installed Trex 250 grommets in the holes.
Thunder power 480mah pack.

Kinda tight, but I like the look better.

Default 230S stock canopy fits and works well

Well i just finished my upgrades and I stuck on the 230s canopy.

i did these upgrades
Lynx landing gear
Lynx Stretched boom and stiffer tail push rod.

Lynx Aluminum:

Swash plate
Body pins
Anti rotation pin guide
Servo Tops

With a Pulse 30c 450mah pack and all these upgrades with the 230s canopy i'm at 204 grams..

not bad at all. Not sure what a totally out of the box one weigh is. the landing gear and boom was already done. I think i will leave the stretched boom for now, was going to go back stock but its flying good now. had lot of servo play before i guess, found front servo tab was just about broken off when i removed it.

really want to try a aluminum tail box but worried it will make it more tail heavy.

Video of it flying

I purchased 180CFX goblin-style canopies from BrandonL...a member of HeliFreak

Been more than a year ago but he probably can make you one (or more)

I think they were in the $15 range unpainted

Kinda bad picture, but I finally got a picture of the 130X canopy I repainted and installed on my 180.
Relocated the mounting holes and used Trex 250 canopy grommets.

Looks like it fits well.. I'm using my 230s canopy as a night canopy and been flying the 180 a lot w/o a canopy.

Hi Epoweredrc,
Not sure which part of the world you are in ( Georgia USA not the country of Georgia?) and how keen you are to get a genuine FUSUNO canopy and boom, even if it means importing from another continent, but this is available and if you scan down it gives details of how the parts are fitted.

Here is another one:

Another here (scan down to the fifth row of products) :

If non-genuine FUSUNO Goblin style would satisfy you try:
https://www.microheli.com/heli-canop...-cfx-522290357

How about an XTREME LIGHT CARBON ?;
https://www.modellsport.ch/Hubschrau...ON-Canopy.html
Not sure if the full carbon canopy would cause interference to radio reception but it certainly is a handsome heli.

However, there have been reports of excessive noise. See post #3629 onward:
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...80-CFX/page242

Happy Flying everyone.

a couple of months ago, the fusuno fuselage was on sale (banggood), it costed approx 15 dollar / 10 Euros.

At the time I did not own a 180 cfx yet so I didn't bother...now I'm regretting I did not buy one

I currently have a fuselage from Microheli
https://www.microheli.com/helicopter...e-180-cfx.html

Green main rotor and tailrotor blades from Lynx
Green landing gear from Lynx
Purple swash from Rakonheli
