So just thought I'd report on my new Nano S2.

It flies great! I think just a tad livelier than my CPS when it was new.

This with 15% expo on cyclic which is what I normally run on these.

I actually prefer this to my XK110. It's just smoother and more locked-in.

If anyone hasn't bought one yet, go get one!

Mine is sitting there. I think it flies but it probably needs repairs.

This heli gave me hope, I never thought I would be able to fly a CP Heli properly. Thank to this heli I can hover nose in and not even think about it. I have a ways to go but this heli is literally a real life sim for me.

+1

Although nCPS is not (too) bad, nS2 is even more beginner friendly and addresses several bugs on nCPS —— including the infamous mid-flight hiccups!

I haven't flown in about five years but I recently got my MCPX BL going and got a Nano S2 because my Nano CPX and CPS both had board failures. This new Nano is a beautiful little machine and has really helped me get back into flying. Only change is I swapped on some orange Lynx blades; I might make some other upgrades down the line but I'm very happy how it flies today, though I have to say the auto-leveling spoils me.

I run -35% Expo on mine, in that way, it reacts/behaves more like a NCPS

It wouldn’t hurt to try that, but generally (for me), expo greater than 20% makes the Blade micros much harder to flip and roll quickly.

He’s saying he does negative expo, not positive. Flips even faster.

I didn't catch that. These things are squirrely enough as it is. There's no way I'd like negative expo.

It's not that it has to flip faster. I just don't want it to flip slower.

I was honestly a little hesitant to tune in negative expo but it just feels a little crisper and more responsive, not squirrelly at all.

Btw if anyone hasn't soldered on jst 2.0 plugs and tried the Tattu packs, they make such a huge difference. The one reason I didn't like my Nanos was the battery - poor flight times and limited power, and bad plug durability. That all goes away now and I'm so happy to have found them.

Being flew with both I have to say nS2 do need that negative expo to catch up the agility a nCPS / nCPX has. It’s too stable “when you want it to go faster” and you don’t want to use big stick movements to achieve what you want.

If you’re comfortable with the sensitivity of nCPS...then you will feel “boring” with nS2, under same TX setup. 😅

PS.: my feelings is a nS2 with 0% expo has more or less same handling a +20% nCPS has.

Well, I never say never but I’ve had them all.

The original Nano CPx (no longer flying), the Nano CPs, (still flying, but a little “loose”) with probably over 300 flights, and now the CP S2.

I like it with a little + expo, but I’ll try 1 flight with - expo.

Keep in mind I’m using an original (circa 2007, JR made) DX7, so the actual amount of expo might be slightly different than the newer Spektrum radios.

So I tried -15% expo today. It felt pretty good. I will try even more negative next time.

It turned out that I actually didn't have any expo dialed in and 75% D/R.

Thanks for the tips!
