Cool, thanks for sharing. I didn't see anything on Ming Da's web site. Do you have a source other than the picture?

I have a MD-7 and I am curious about the future of MD since Matt / MDHelicopterUsa.com are the only distributors, and from what I read here he probably doesn't get much new business. A new model may help with that.

I found it now. Had to translate the page to English with a right click. Looks like MD is alive and well, just not stateside.

I'd love to see more activity here. Thanks for posting.

Here is the article, translated to English:

Wednesday, February 20, 2019
Mingda Technology M6 project started, the official screen was released for the first time!

Apparently inspired by the M5 launched in 2017 , Mingda Technology has quietly launched a new helicopter launch program with the name " M6 ". From the customary naming method of the manufacturer, we can guess that the M6 will be a model with a main rotor length of 600mm ( 590~620mm )...

In fact, I have to say that it is inevitable that this is unexpected, because at this time when the helicopter industry in the world is in the ice age, I donít think that Mingda Technology will start a new product -- " M6 " production plan. Obviously, the companyís very small size is in this kind. Under the difficult environment, it has the right elements of survival... (The situation is similar to the end of the Cretaceous era?)

According to the Mingda Technology R&D team, the basic design concept of M6 is inherited from M5 , and the more evolved is the more concentrated center of gravity, which makes the movement characteristics of the body more ideal and comprehensive, while the impact of the squat is less, and the satisfaction of the flight is improved. .

Since the M6 is still in the production planning stage at this moment, the product images that can be obtained are mainly computer graphics. Some of the main features of the M6 can be seen from the first batch of drawings :
●The tail rotor drive mode is different from the belt drive system of M5 but the shaft drive mode.
● The main gear is again used by the factory's own family gear.
● All-aluminum main rotor head in the form of no balance bar is used from M5 .
●The pitch rod connecting method of the swash plate is designed with a 90- degree steering design that prevents jumping .
● The side panels made of carbon fiber materials have been completely planned for the position distribution of the connecting mechanisms.
● The arrangement and installation structure of the CCPM control servo is based on the built-in type of M5 .
●The new design of the rudder servo base can be tilted to facilitate the installation and removal of the servo.
● The design of the battery holder follows the slide rail construction from M5 .
●The painted hood made of fiberglass material is similar in appearance to M5 , but the air inlet for heat dissipation is added to the left and right sides.
●The carbon fiber material tripod follows the forward tilting design of the M5 and the sled-separated construction.
● Lightweight tail shell group evolved based on MD6 .

The flying friends who are close to the Mingda technology team know that the M6 has already had the original test machine already in flight test, but the factory said that the prototype close to the commercial appearance has not been completed yet, and the project progress is estimated to be the fastest in 2019 . 3 Yuedi can do real machine exposure, as the launch date and price has not yet finalized yet, please be patient and wait until the announcement of the faithful fly.

●This paper is published in the Journal of Remote Control Technology, No. 233 ( 2018.03 )

On a side note, do you know a good way to get parts and kits to the US? Our only dealer is unresponsive. Would like to keep flying my MD-7 but it has taken months to get boom supports. Then I found a very small kink in my boom, we're two weeks out on that.

Have you tried the other contact info for Matt?

Must be a broken email link or something... He responded within seconds when I messaged him.

He's going to check on this...

I've been using [email protected]. Can you post or PM what you would use as an alternate?
