Default Will this work? Paint to balance blades

I have an Edge 713 and a Switch 713. Both were the surviving blade of a corresponding light crash.

Edge: 202g
Switch: 210g

I was thinking of painting both blades to match them up. Painting would also, in theory, add weight. Maybe add an extra couple coats to the Edge to shore up the difference in weight.

Would this work?

Yes. I have a set of mismatched 550mm Cyclones Ive flown like 20 times from two different sets.. One is clearcoated with a few grams to balance evenly.

I did it with two Cyclones though.. I would hope the Edge and the Switch are the same. Well, you will find out real fast when you try them out.

Check the CGs of the blades. If they're not exactly in the same spot, a lead weight may be favorable.

Also keep in mind that painting them alters the airfoil thickness.

Yeah, I would plan to measure CG before painting and balance them out with more clear coat on one side. Was also thinking of doing fluorescent orange on the bottom and chartreuse on the top before clear coating.

I thought about adding weight without paint, but haven't the slightest clue how I would go about adding lead.

If this flies, painted blades should fly

Simple. Cast a cylindrical lead plug of the desired weight, drill a hole into the blade skin at the right spanwise radius right behind the spar, insert lead plug with resin, let it cure, done.

OK that makes sense, thanks. I've always flown matched pairs, with exception of 450 size where I just used tape.
