Thanks Vinger.

@ Hunter
Why re task old theories with new technology? Use new theories no longer theory but proven in the IEEE labs with new tech. I really hope that's good enough for us. And that nothing done in our hobby world challenges these real experts information. If you track here with that eventually you will see the YY SL series connected to the DD SL so its both parallel and serial topology. Similar is zig zag transformer tech.

Another explanation of the shifted wind topologies resides in the NEU thread. I think I will wind it a half turn motor but Im still deciding if that's what I want to do.

A connection diagram for a hetro polar array is here

My hope is that the wye + delta will attenuate the triplen that sits on top of a 12N8P ABC wind. You see there is very little harmonic content in the higher orders.

I was going to use all of the original bell then decided I could gain efficiency by making it lighter. So I parted off the face leaving only the flux ring. Ill make the endbell from aluminum. Im considering on piece as I don't know if a steel shaft is essential on an airplane. An 8mm in aluminum may hold and be lighter. I'm not sure I guess I have to look at shear, tensile, and yield values.

Changing things up a bit based on a paper CL sent about Y-D versus D-Y.
For a 12N8P the working is the forth so we try a shift of two slots and
connect D - Y.

Here is the YY SL machine bundled so far. In a Y-D u would never bundle the wye ends but instead hook up to what would have been the motor leads for the delta motor. The theory with the shift and series connection is we boost the working harmonic (4th), eliminate the fundamental, and lower the other subs. As its already a lesser motor than a 12N10 for torque production It wont work as good as it would on a 12N10P but it should improve the efficiency of the 8 pole machine

Thanks for your time and patience..
