![]() I notice that with both my 480 and 550 on vbar/scorpion 130 opto gov that when I go from motor run to bailout or motor off that the motor almost instantly changes rpm instead of spooling down. I've looked for a place to change that but don't see anything. It seems like that is kinda hard on the main gear. So is there a way to do a normal spool down, or is there a good reason for having it this way?

![]() I don't know that ESC well, but if there's a brake it needs to be turned off.
e - http://www.scorpionsystem.com/files/...7%20in%201.pdf If this is the ESC then there is a brake setting.

The thing is though your blades are on a one way bearing so even if the motor is stopped solid the blades should continue to turn freely. |

![]() And the blades do continue to turn freely but it looks and sound odd to have the brake engaged. I'll connect the laptop and see if there is a way to turn off the brake because I don't see anything in any of the menue's on the touch radio.

![]() Right - you will have to reset that directly on the ESC.

![]() Are you using VBar Control? If yes then this is normal behaviour if using the Tribunus with Neo governor. It only seems harsh on the bench, in the air the MOTOR IDLE will give a minimun rpm (IDLE) to protect the gears when doing a bail out after a botched auto rotation. Motor OFF does stop the motor but there will be no effect on the main rotor as the OWB will let the main rotor continue to turn.
The airplane setting has nothing to do with the heli selection if set correctly via VBar Control.
