Default Tail Tuning Help

Hi Guys -

I've followed the VStabi gov/tail tuning and Tail tuning tips here on this site and still having problems getting my tail to stay put during hard collective pitch pumps. I know its something in the tuning because I see the same behavior across multiple hells... Blade 550x and Protos 700 and had no issue with Brain before switching to Vbar. My sig has all the details of the helis and equipment.

I have no wag at all during a hover so thats good. So what I'm seeing is during quick jabs of the collective is a small kick tail right and a bounce tail left when I go to neutral pitch. I was also seeing a tail drift to the left(nose right) that I got rid of by reducing the collective torque comp.

I thought increasing the I gain would help and it did a bit had a bad tail wag during hard rolls so I backed off.

Any suggestions?

did you do a trim flight.. you need pro soft ware, but a trim flight tunes the tail and cyclic for you.

I have not. I'll give that a try.

Not the trim flight, rather an OPTIMIZING flight.

Better but not perfect.

Realized Tribunus Device Mode was set to External Governor. Does this make any difference since it appears that this setting should be set to Vbar PID? With my limited knowledge, I would expect that I need to go thru the Gov tuning again.?? Maybe I have tuned Vbar PID's on top of the Tribunus PID's with may be causing some problems??

Yes you need to set Tribunus to VBar PID for Neo governor to function properly and it is really plug and play and the default Neo governor settings works really well.

Thanks. I'll set this correctly and return governor to defaults as a starting point.
