Is it just me, or does the Fusion 180 seem to have (from all of the videos that are out there) a smaller power-to-weight ratio compared the 180 cfx? The 180 cfx just seems to have a lot more power:

Are you basing that off of the videos? I’d be hesitant to compare them unless you know how the throttles compare. Are both at 75%? One at 85% ?

So just to reiterate, 3S is not recommended on the Fusion 180 even though it is listed in the manual, correct?

Based on the promo videos from Blade....they always push the heli to its limits. The fusion 180 video seems a little docile.

I just got one, did a quick minimal setup/check, and then a 30 second hover in IU1 (almost dark). Everything works, cyclic is peppy, belt may be too tight.

Looks really good to me!

Edit: Flew 4s 450mah as I have a bunch left over from a quad I don't have anymore

I see in the manual that the throttle high end is set to 110.
I wonder if its a typo?

Nice catch. I expect it is a typo since it’s the upper limit and the recommended throttle curves don’t go near 100%.

Just took mine out today for its maiden flight. I used the recommended Spectrum 4S 50C batteries and it flew very well! It felt locked in and responsive and did not seem overly intimidating at all. I would like to do a servo saver mod before I really let it rip but overall I love this helicopter so far!

Thanks. I’ll be posting some more videos as time goes on. I will say for being a bit bigger and heavier than the 130X, it is very nimble in the air. I may bump the expo back down a bit since I turned it up to 15% in that video. The manual calls for 0 expo which I found a tad too jumpy for my liking. I think somewhere around 10% expo will have a nice balance.

Nice video!
Nice flying!
Cool close up!
Looks like it has out-of-the-box tamed down normal mode too.

Chris1683, great video with nice resolution and superb quality! Is it me or the tail seems to wag a little bit during pitch pumps and mini-rainbows?

P.S.: what camera is it?

Thanks. I used my iPhone XS with a cheap little hat cam mount. It was recorded in 1080P 60FPS. I only noticed the tail “kick” very slightly during hard pitch pumps. It has me wondering if the belt tension is maybe a bit on the tight side. The manual calls for 75% on the gyro gains. I played around with them a bit and didn’t see any major change in that tail behavior. My only other model to compare it to is the Blade 330X which also uses a belt driven tail and if memory serves me correct it seems to fly with the same behavior.

I'd say that tail is well within acceptable parameters.

Chris1683, thanks for answer! Indeed, I should have called it a tail "kick" instead of wag - would have been more appropriate.

navigator2011, the tail hold looks solid - no doubt about it.
