Exclamation CRITICAL UPDATE: HORUS Radios & Jumper T16

If you have any of the following radios using Open-TX 2.3.x, PLEASE DO NOT FLY until you update to 2.3.5:

- Horus X10 Series
- Horus X12S
- Jumper T16

The problems:
- Horus temporary loss of control when an XJT module is used at the same time as an R9M
- Horus / T16 issue where parameters are not properly saved in case of emergency reboot

Both of these are listed as critical bugs (loss of aircraft has already occurred). This only affects the 2.3.x code branch. 2.2.x is not affected.

Go to the open-tx.org web page to get the latest version.

Good luck!

They have the 2.3.5 available for the X9R+ also.

Updated the radio with V2.3.5 and it then recommended updating the JP4in1 module also. That new 4in1 firmware version is V1.3.0.53

Seems as though the 4in1 firmware was updated to go along with the 2.3.5.

I had just updated radio with 2.3.4 and the 4in1 with V1.3.0.47 this past Monday

Unfortunately thoroughly testing everything including doing regression testing before a release is a time consuming process and unfortunately this time a previous update has had an unintended side effect.

Maybe Open-TX can join Microsoft, Adobe, and Oracle in the now-infamous "Patch Tuesday!" ritual, every 2nd Tuesday of the month.

However, if you look at the original issue report they were pretty quick with a fix once they nailed down the failure conditions. They did test other radios for the critical issues, but only Horus and T16 were found to be impacted.

I am not making any criticism but just how it goes with software and the testing of it.

Unfortunate to discover the bug with a model. It just shows the test plan has a gap in it.
