Default Pitch-up tendency, what to check?

I am slightly puzzled by this. I have a Rave 450 with a VX1e and it wants to pitch up in forward flight. I leveled the swash as accurately as I could, made sure the elevator and aileron are calibrated at 8 degrees etc. all the usual setup stuff.

I have 7 other helis with Vortexes and never had this problem. I'm certainly not ruling out something silly on my part, but in the past, even when I was a little sloppy doing the setup I never had this symptom :-o

Soooooo, what should I check?

1. Make sure it's not tail heavy.
2. Increase cyclic gain

It's actually a tiny bit nose heavy! I'll have a look at the gain but the heli wizard and style settings have always been pretty much spot-on.

I'll just go through everything again when I get a moment. I have another 450 that flies really good with the same FBL unit :-o

Increase Pitch up compensation in the main rotor menu for the FBL unit.

Yeah, since my post I have gone through the setup again and have improved the mechanical setup for less servo trims and I got the ail and elev 8 degree settings more accurate, double-checked everything. The swash gain was a bit low compared to my other 450, so I have upped the gain a bit.

The pitch-up comp was at 60, so I have increased it to 70 and we'll see what happens when I get a chance to fly it again soon (hopefully this weekend).

ok, big difference.. that would make sense. the vortex freaks out when trims are in the tx.

Make sure you have enough cyclic pitch and verify the cyclic ring is not limiting this.
