Some of the initial concerns are having the VStabi USB driver load correctly, and having PC software version compatible with the one on the v bar. I.e. 5.3.4. I haven't connected to a v bar with USB in a very long time so I may not be helping you much.

I'm fairly certain that you will have to connect to it with USB before anything else. there's a chance that this v bar is set to work with something other than spectrum satellites, in which case you simply will not be able to connect to it. Focus on the USB driver and the connection.

What do the connection lights look like in the PC software?

thank you for the reply! The USB is green, connection is red.. I did read, not to have sats plugged in first. But,when I just plug the esc into (collective/esc on fbl, plug in, I get no lights coming up..

if it was used with a v control for example, it will not recognize the spectrum sats until after you program it with the PC software. That's one of the first steps in configuration.

So in other words, that may be expected behavior.

You can do a recovery firmware write blindly without it being connected, after this the USB will work and you can update to the flying firmware.
