Default blade alternatives

Good afternoon folks,

I would like to "stretch" the main blades of my 230S V1... in other words,
I would like to replace the stock blades and add 245mm or 250mm blades.

Anyone has tried this? If yes, which blades do you recommend?

grtz

I have the Zeal 255's on mine, stock boom, flies good, sport flying only at the moment. They are just a bit lighter than the stock at 1/2 gram less. Heli seems a bit floatier and more responsive. MicroHeli CF tail rotor on it as well.

I'll put in a 2nd vote for those MH CF tail rotors. I didn't do a scientific experiment, but it sure seems like I get longer flight times on a charge with those, compared to the OEM tail rotor blades. And, when you land in tall grass, your tail rotor doesn't get ruined. And the tail seems more responsive.

Just don't walk through your house, carrying your helo, and run the tail rotor into a door jamb, like I did. They won't take that kind of abuse.

How are you liking those Zeal 255 Blades? Im looking for new CG blades as i just broke one of my Zeal 238s that you can no longer get...so im looking for alternates as well.. I fly mild 3D , inverted and loops , looking for some "zippy" blades..

Microheli 3-Blade Rotor Head?

Head works fine. 3-Blade Set Mainblades from Microheli sold for this were crap. Stock 230S Blades and Lynx Heli Blades worked fine. Zeal Blades work perfect, but i prefer weaker response for scale flying.

To be honest, I do not fly the 230S that much and when I fly it, it's 100% sport flying.

What options do we have for CF blades nowadays besides the Blade 245mm ones?
I used to run the Blade 238mm (actually made by Zeal) and LOVED them, but they are discontinued, and the ones from Zeal are discontinued too. Looking for something fairly equivalent

replying to my own post haha, here are what I can find so far. Please add to the list if you know of anything compatible, no matter what the brand is.

BLH1410 (Blade 230mm)
BLH4501C (Blade 245mm)
HD230A (Align 230mm, for 300x, bolt hole size unknown) (These are the lowest price, and very high quality)

Microheli 235mm blades : sold out/discontinued
Zeal 238mm blades : discontinued
Blade 238mm blades : discontinued

I did not found any more.
Though I do not understand why anyone should put CF Blades on the 230S. Performance is best with stock Bades, and as this Heli is rather for intermediate 3D Pilots due to its direct drive Tail, You could hardly enjoy the Advantages of a CF Blade. As the 230S is often used as a cheap Training Modell, it would be cheaper to damage the stock Blades.

Did You experience any Advantages using other than stock Blades on the 230S so far?

Yes, when I was running the Blade 238mm cf blades. It was smoother, crisper, more precise, and pitch pumps/stops were less cushioned and more like a higher performance heli. There was also noticeably less vibration during spool up and during flight. They also sounded cooler, and the disc was easier to see in the air.

I'm still an intermediate pilot for sure, but the 230s has officially become my basher heli and my practice heli. Considering I fly an align 470LT, I would prefer the 230s to have the crisper feel so it's a little more like the characteristics of the 470. It's more fun, and less awkward transitioning between the two

My V1 is stretched and I run the 255mm CF Zeal blades. They perform quite well. I do have a couple pair of the BLH1503C 238mm CF Blade ones too. I should put a set on my V2.

Amain shows some of the latter in stock in store. Perhaps if somebody really wanted them they would ship:
