Looks like the ESC goes on the top front in both variations. I assume the main gear is straight so its compatible with x5/x7 pinions.

The X7 only has slant cut pinions and the x5 only has 6mm pinions in 14 and 15t. I think it's a whole new setup.

ahh i see, didnt know that about the X7. Personally I would like to see them include the Nitro parts in the kit and not separate them. Its really only a X6 as of now.

take another look at the 6s setup.. the motor and lipo are extremely close.
why not just have the motor mounted like the 12s setup? the way they have it for 6s, there is a lot of weight down low.
no lipo tray either.. this is the 21st century, everybody wants a lipo tray. well, I do.

Ya I agree with you Tony. I would have preferred more modern touches on this heli. I also want my motor on the top but looking at the 12S setup it looks like it causes you to run your wires from your fbl unit at a sharp angle and extremely close to the motor. After examining all of the photos I am starting to think that Gaui tried to cram too much sh*t into one heli frame they should have stuck with X6 and NX6 combination. Also on the nitro I dont understand why they kept the header tank on it, its not needed with modern clunks.

Is it light enough to configure it with the following ?

OS 37 with 520 mm blades
Maybe with mini servos ?
OR
OS 50 with 570's and standard.

I had longer flight times with those combinations. Just curious 🙂

It does say you can run os50 and 55 on it with 550, If you want 37 I would go with the nx4. I wished they would have released the NX5 not sure why that heli never made it to the market.

Ya that would have sold well ... it's a shame they never build what we ask for.

A 37 is quite capable of swinging from 520 - 550 blades.
I miss the 30 size nitro

I would run 570's on my 600N but I think it would be heavy ..... gonna have to try it again someday.

Just FYI, I did confirm with one of GAUI pilots and they did state that if you want to run your motor on top you will need to cut the two frame supports that are just behind the FBL plate and above the the main gear. You will have no choice but do this for a 12S setup.

It's a unique design, I'll give them that. But it seems that it comes with too many compromises. Probably would have been better to make two separate models that shared 80% parts rather than being a janky design in order to share 98%. I'm happy to see the 600 size get more love recently though.

It’s missing key things that people want.
Slant gear, lipo tray off the top of my head.
Motor up or down.. wtf.
Nose down crash, your fked.. everything’s up front

They should’ve just made the X5 V2 belt into a 600.. with slight changes to allow a Lipo tray and slant gear.

so what I'm gathering here is that nobody is excited about this new model? That sucks, we are all Gaui fans here. I got excited about the 6s capability. I'm not wanting to invest in the expense of a 12s setup and I really don't care about the nitro option either.

I don't mind the motor upside down in my X3L. The only additional item up front is the FBL, I'm indifferent about the battery tray. I never take it out on my X3L. I agree the canopy is bland as well.

I think GAUI got a bit of the Krakenitis and decided to come up with a "new and innovative" heli but fell well short of the mark. Should have stuck with their tried and true solid design and like Tony said just do minor changes to an already great heli lineup.

On the upside looks like the NEX6 price has been lowered to $499 (and its not even out yet) and its now the cheapest 600 you can get.

Well I just saw this on Anything Heli Gaui NEX6 nitro conversion kit so the price is $99.99 for the conversion kit. If you want to run it as a Nitro you will need to buy this kit. So I guess the price drop from $599 to $499 now makes sense.

Started putting it together and the manual was drawn by a couple 5 year old kids with crowns. You think they would have stayed with the nx4 platform that was designed by a real engineer Bobby Watts.

Sorry to hear that Bobbyra. It really is a shame that Bobby isn't involved with GAUI anymore. Can you post some photos of the manual. GAUI manuals have always been terrible and left a lot of things up to the user to figure out.
