Great info, thank you!

Even though it’s larger than a TRex 150X, I could see this playing the same role for me. Something in between my Blade Nanos and my Oxy 2.

Brian Bremer: Do you know if this is running a BLHeli-flashed ESC like the 230S or F270?

Should we sell all our 130s’s? Or is horizon planning on keeping the 130 around? Seems like the 150 would replace it?

Default Blade 150s

Many thanks Brian!

May I ask the dimension of the battery that 150s can hold in the battery tray? I think many of us would hope to fit a slightly bigger lipo to either getting more punch or longer flight time. Thanks.

I’m contacting LHS (in HK) for 150s preorder and hopefully they will reply me soon.

I'm definitely getting one of these! I was looking for another original 180CFX and this is basically all 180 parts with a motorized tail. Should be interesting to see the run times compared to the torque tube. My belt driven 180 uses 20% more power compared to the TT. Should be able to fit a 650mah 3S in there but keeping it light weight has its advantages, I just have a lot of 450 3S batteries and run 3:30 coming down at 35 - 45 %.

I never could get the tail to stop decent... Piro flips and inverted funnels were very sloppy. I had two. One of mine and a friends would randomly shut down when inverted. Never did figure that out. Thought it was TX programming related to Safe but everything was correct in both TX's. Drove us crazy! I gave mine to him for parts. Trouble shot that thing for days with lots of wasted money on spares.

He bought a 230S after that and it was pretty good. So I don't know what the issue was with the 130's.

Default Guess this is the 150S Spot.

Flew mine today and it is pretty impressive. Kinda a cross between a 230S and a 180CFX. Couldn't help but be reminded of the Timber UMX. This thing had me grinning big time. I'm not a great pilot by any means, but this thing had me pushing my limits and not caring.Damage for the day (didn't stop me flying it and all fixed now) a few teeth off the main gear, Tail Fins gone and the most surprising, the canopy shrank like a dry prune. The Tail Fin/Motor Mount combo is a bad design. While waiting for parts, put a 180CFX tail fin on.

One thing you don't see anywhere in the advertising, is that big toroid coil hanging off the side. You forget about it after flying though!

One other thing I don’t see for the 150S is an online manual....I wonder if they are still proof reading it...

The esc is blheli based, the esc setup is well tested and I recommend leaving well enough alone.

Battery size, this is pretty much impossible to answer as the canopy is a compound curve. The recommended pack is 3s 450mAh and the flight controller settings are optimized for this pack. Going to a larger or smaller pack may require gain adjustments to achieve similar performance.

Flight time for mild aerobatics is around 5.5 minutes and if you beat the snot out of it 3.5 minutes.

Manual is on the product page.

130 S tail issue, the 230 S v1 and 130 S are pretty closely related when it comes to tail esc hardware, flight controller firmware and performance. If you are having issues please contact support and send it back as I would like to take a look at it and try to resolve the issue.

Thanks and Best Regards,

(Looks like few had contributed to this thread since 150s launch...)

Had mine around a week. Test / maiden flight went smooth and it’s just so solid in the air in stability mode. Cyclic in IU1 is quite docile and handle wind and gust very well. Main / Tail gain need more fine tuning, but totally manageable. So far so good!

Someone had already recorded their first few flights in RCG; looks forward more clips to come.

Default Blade 150 S INI file for T8SG Plus ???

Howdy, does anyone have an .ini file for the Blade 150 S, and or do you think the .ini file I modified based on the Blade Nano S2 would work in this post https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=841377

Angry 150 S vs Blade Nano S2,

Guys I can fly my nano pretty good using 3d setting (fixed throttle), I am able to do slow piros and keep it within about a 5 foot radius, can fly all upright orientations, and when outside do basic acro. but man this 150 S is scaring the shit out of me I feel like I barely have control, and it also wants to just drop in altitude so easy, I have flown it with My DX6i (per Manual) and my Jumper T8SG((worse even more twitchy) using Nano ini profile)) have not managed to break the helo yet, but thought the transition would not be this bad. Could it be the batteries I am using (zippy 35c 3cell 11.1v 500) ? is there transmitter settings I can adjust to make it more docile and friendly? I am thinking about sending it back before I crash it. FYI not to smart on what all the settings are in the transmitter...

You didn't mention whether you gave been flying the nano in stability mode, or even safe-z mode. If so, it will just take some time to adapt to the 150s. If you stop flying the nano, for a while, and just focus on the 150s, it'll get easier quickly.

Default Blade 150s

More docile and friendly. You can add expo to cyclic, decrease dual rates on cyclic, decrease head speed, and decrease collective pitch channel endpoints.

Do you know by any chance what the cyclic and collective min/max pitch is what is preselected / dailed into the FBL settings?

Do you have 6 degree cyclic pitch or more (on 100% DualRate settings)?
Do you have more than 11 degree collective pitch?

Those were the values I measured and adjusted when I had to program my 4503D CCPM120 mixer settings.
It flew so much better after that :-)

But with a FBL heli you have to tune those values directly in the FBL unit.

Newer Blade helis can make use of TextGen or Forward Programming (not supported by the Dx6i!)

DualRate 70-85% elev + ail and 25-30% expo on elev + ail should help.

Some FBL system have different adjustments for agility yaw rate L/R or whatever the max (configurable) rates will be called.

Are there any beginner / soft vs hardcore vs extreme in the FBL unit itself?

Interesting.

You are using a 0-25-50-75-100 pitch curve with constant throttle or at least 30-40-50-75-100 / 30-40-50-75-90-100 pitch curve?

Do you have the AUX1 / PIT channel on 100%?

Do not make the error to double reduce pitch curves in the curve menu AND in the servo menu twice!

Can you fly a 3d heli in acro/agility mode on the SIM and use positive pitch to prevent against height drops in curves / turns?

As far as I understand you using this acro mode with your Nano when you fly outside? And it does not have those "drop altitude" issues?

..(...)..

Better do not make the error to fly the 150s in FM0 with a 0-25-50-75-100 throttle curve.

Changing throttle is not good...not for curves, not for hovering.
Same happened to me in the beginning with my 4503D.
You need constant throttle (FM1) with a proper minimum value and normal pitch curve.

Maybe the wind / gusts is/are just pressing your 150s against the ground where you are flying?

My 2cents with pretty much guessing :-)
