Hopefully they don't mess it up with SAFE

i just hope the tail don't shake like some girl on the dance floor. and no glitchy esc/rx. one crash into branches of a tree on first or second flight and my only mcpx bl went twitchy on the esc/rx and i threw it in the trash. pretty much how that went. had potential but that sucked. 130x never did that nor xk k110 despite many bad wrecks.

had great power to weight ratio tho. if it lasted I can see why people loved it.

My two MCPX-BLs have been pretty much trouble-free since I bought them.

I hope that they do not start reading this thread and getting ideas.

seems most people had a good run with them and want it brought back. It would be a good seller for sure. I just got unlucky. same thing happened to an xk k120 I had. I smashed the 130x hundreds of times and the esc/rx just took it all np. Once it fell about 50 feet out of the sky and landed in rock hard dirt over a field and i picked it up and flew it again lol.

Can’t wait! I’ll be first in line to order one if they release a good successor to the original BL. Hopefully they do NOT cripple it with SAFE or SAFE-Z.

Very cool! I’ve only heard good things about the original version. Never flown one though.

Question. Mentally I have always separated the SAFE features (Stability mode and rescue) from the usual 3-axis stabilization gyros that are on all modern FBLs. So that when I go into 3D mode and don’t hit rescue I’m not using any SAFE technology.

Is this correct?

I ask because I assumed that the less agile flying we saw in the CP S/S2 as compared to the CP X was due to the 3-axis stabilization software (probably some internal expo too) and not SAFE. If I am flying a newer Blade model with SAFE off, and it still doesn’t fly as good as a previous version that didn’t have the option, it seems like it’d be the regular FBL’s fault and not the SAFE features. Meaning Bremer or whoever programs these made additional changes unrelated to SAFE that made it fly less like the older model.

Or is it just the stability features you don’t want cluttering up the programming? Honest questions. Im curious.

Assuming I’m right, I don’t care one way or the other I’d it has SAFE, so long as it’s as good as you all say the original one was!!!I Oh, also crossing my fingers that they actually test their flight control software to make sure that throttle hold actually holds the throttle. Low bar!!

I always found that the original models from Blade which did not have SAFE flew better and with more agility. Every model which got replaced with a SAFE version I feel like was a step down. Again, this is just my opinion base on the models I have flown over the years. I know Blade just wants more models to appeal to more buyers but SAFE should be reserved more for the beginner friendly models which the BL certainly was not.

And if you watched each SAFE release...the model went from Advanced to Intermediate

when i had a 230s you could put stability on a separate switch and have normal flight modes otherwise. it effectively turned safe off but you still had rescue. im ok w that.

Iím with you there. I think Chrisís experience suggests that with the SAFE option, whether itís used or not, comes other changes to the FBL that affect flight performance in a negative way. So even if you set channel 5 to -100 (safe off) it still didnít fly the same as before.

On such a small and light heli like the BL, I don’t think that rescue is as important as it would be in a heavier full-sized model. I’ve dumped my BL’s into the ground over and over and they just keep taking the punishment. Sure it’s always nice to have more features but it’s like anything else in life, the more stuff there is the more stuff that can go wrong.

Either way, I’m excited to see what comes!

Even with stability and rescue off you are still in AS3X mode on the helis with that FBL so there is still some tiny bit of control it's doing. In the RF8 simulator you can select a manual mode over a AS3X mode but I don't think you can IRL. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will point it out.

Anyone know the typical timing of HorizonHobby as far as teaser Ė> announcement Ė> release?

Lol they put it on the Nano. They will 100% put it on the new BL too.

Finally I can stop posting about a V2 lol Hopefully piro comp and no safe. Love my XK K110's and just picked up a K130 that may be decent. I still have a BL so hopefully there will parts compatibility.

I will purchase V2 for sure though!

EDIT... HH flew it at IRCHA. Did anyone see it and have info or pics?

That's definitely just a copy-pasted description from the V1. The only part that says V2 is the title. And the pictures are the same. I doubt that's a V2 page... It's too early.
