Default Range test questions

I was doing a range test on my 230s v2 and 360 cfx 3s last night. I have some questions. First some pictures so I can refer to them.

230s v2

360cfx 3s

On the 230s v2, what do the circled numbers represent? It looked like it might be some sort of error counters.

On the 360cfx 3s, there is an extra line about signal strength (circled) that isn't present on the 230s v2 .. why is that?

The manual doesn't say anything about any of this. It shows a screen that says something about a distance of 30 feet or meters and reduced power ... It doesn't really even say anything about how far away you are actually supposed to be for the test.

Looks like I was wrong about the manual not saying anything about distance:
"With the model restrained on the ground, stand 30 paces
(approx. 90 feet/28 meters) away from the model."

Also, it seems that the "Flight Log Data" screen appears because I have telemetry?
"If performing a range test while a telemetry module is active,
the display will show flight log data."

I didn't know I had telemetry... but there seems to be no explanation of what that stuff means... I'll look through the manual and see if I can find anything about it as well

It does look like there is telemetry for the 230s v2 tho it still doesn't explain what those numbers mean anywhere that i can find ... checking the 360cfx 3s.

360cfx 3s manual doesn't really mention telemetry other than that you can adjust gain values with it. None of them describe what those screens are for.

Of course you have telemetry. AR636 is sending RX voltage supply and RX protocoll "F" (Frame loss) and "H" (holds) via telemetry. You can enable logging in your TX and write to SD card. After flight, you can read and display a diagramm. Just read that DX8 manual!
In your picture, while testing the range, on the right side in display it shows "F". This are lost frames. When You increase the distance, even more F should occure, and the counter will go up. When loosing much frames continuosly, a Hold will occure. This means, communication is down, the heli will fail.
Some F to occure in Flight, is normal. When i fly my 230S in sight range distance, allways about some (less then 10) F are counted. (I check in log-file after flight). Never should a H (Hold) occure.

The other "Numbers" in display, counting up an down, are some Antenna Signal values, i dont really know. Ignore, not relevant for checking RX Range. Only the Number of F and H is importand. At less than 90feet there should be only a few F, and no H.

When you use any foward programming, entering gain Menu or else, forget about that certain log. it will be full of Fails and Holds, as telemetry is used by foward programmig at that time.

Ok - I will investigate logging the telemetry to see what I can see ... I will also perform a better range test where I'm sure how far away I am ...
