Trying to decide on my next heli, for those that own one, what arre your thoughts on the 300x? I am cheap so i like the thought that batteries are not going to kill my pocket, i like the looks of it and the size, easy to store and transport,

I'm with you on this Cman. I guess all owners are out flying, lol.

I tried not to buy one until I read all the comments of owners here. Be good or bad. But...I am too weak. I bought the "combo" from Amain. They are substantially cheaper than the other online stores. Not to mention, less $35 for $300 or more purchase.

My thoughts for now. Looks really good in person. There is only 1 area inside the airframe that you can stick your FBL or Rx in. I though there is a carbon fiber plate where the landing gear is attached. That is all open. I went and bought an ar7210bx for this. I checked the specs and it "should" fit inside the airframe. With satellites, no problem placing them on the sides of the heli.

The specs states that it weights 418g. I checked mine as-is, not even a connector for the ESC. My kitchen weighing scale is saying 436g. I'll weight it again when it is ready to fly with my 1300mah 3S lipo and FBL unit.

Hopefully, more owners will chime in.

I'm really tempted, its $280 shipped from Amain right now with their $35 off coupon. Problem is I have a ton of stuff in the same size range. I might have caved if it had bailout and self level but the FBL that comes on it is wayyyy old school. And its porky too...

I've also grown to love the simplicity of the 230s. And you can build a nice Oxy 2 for just a bit more.

Man, I just did a nice job talking myself out of it, now if I can just believe it.

yakky. The combo doesn't come with the FBL unit. Only motor, servos and esc.

Their RTF is all there. Radio, Lipo, FBL unit with mini receiver plus a charger.

Helidirect has a more accurate description of the combo.

https://www.helidirect.com/products/...rex-300x-combo

I don't know if there are 2 versions of combo.

They are two different part numbers, and helidirect's combo is WAY more expensive even though it doesn't come with the FBL.

The product number of the Align box I got from AMain: AGNRH30E02XT.

On their website, it doesn't have a T at the end. But same product number on the box as pictured on their page.

Amain coupon for $35 off is: SEPT3519. You can also see that on their webpage if you search "coupon".

BTW. Sorry for posting the incorrect weight of the combo.I have the blade holder still attached when I weighed it. It is less than 2g. So it is 434g.

So no FBL included? I also noticed at amain it is listed in the bind and fly category.

Im very interested in this, I would tend to doubt the AMAIN 300x comes with the GRS flybarless unit for that price.

Can anyone confirm?

Well had mine 2 weeks ago .
In the box was another swash and new stronger ball links .
Any way if you follow the set up instructions which is standard for all helicopters etc you will find they have made a major cock up !
As per usual you set the swash servos at 90 .
It then tells you to make three lots of servo rods up all the same length !
Well the elevator servo is mounted about 5mm lower in the frames than the front servos so set up is then all to f..k .
From new my rtf model had the elevator servo arm mounted way off centre to correct this !!!
Not happy as it should have a longer elevator servo rod .
This is not rocket science , can’t understand how they can even print the manual to show you to set it up wrong !
And you can’t run the links further out as risk them coming off the rod .
A longer elevator rod should have been included and a different length shown then to make it in manual .

Lightningrc. I read your other thread about that elevator rod being shorter. That reminds me to check mine when I get back home from work. I'll post back here.

So, basically, they included an extra swash inside the box and "stronger" ball links?

I will say from the pictures the ball links look extremely... wispy. Not sure why they chose to save weight there. I like my ball links robust, and strong like bull.

I just downloaded the manual for my reference. Definitely no FBL unit on the combo.

That is a bit frustrating, my biggest problem is figuring out which controller to use, i read and read and watch videos and i am still not sure, i am a crappy pilot so what the manufacturer recomends usually works for me

Hi Cman,I bought the combo with the radio and FBL unit and it flies really very nicely,in fact suberb, ive just changed over to putting A beastX in,the reason I changed is just wanted to see if there is much difference.

The Align GRS is so easy to set up and flies really nice, will let you no my thoughts on the beastX.

Ive had A few crashes pilot fault, very cheap to repair,if you get the 300X invest it 2no quality 1.5mm hex drivers.

Any questions please ask,Marty
