![]() Lulzbots are turn-key printers, they're for people who want a 3D printer that works without much tinkering and for those who need everything to work perfectly without much effort. They're expensive for what they are (compare size, features, design, etc with cheaper ones that look nearly identical) but they're darn reliable. Their customer support is fantastic, aimed towards A. commercial applications where price isn't really an issue and B. people who just want something that works.
They aren't exceptional in any way... and you can get printers that do basically the same quality for much, much less. The main cost goes into support and how turn-key they are.

![]() Can't go wrong with the Prusa MK3S. It's a bit pricey, but it works. No fiddling.

![]() Wow, didn't realize the Lulzbot was that expensive...the Prusa is a bargain then...the Prusa is the same printer that the 3DLabPrint guys use to make all their 3d printed airplanes...

![]() Quote:
Note: They have two options: Assembled, Unassembled Unassembled is $750, assembled is $1000. I'd recommend going with unassembled. Reason being is that if you go over like $1000 importing to the US there can be custom fees up to a couple hundred dollars ![]()

![]() I wouldn't drop over $300 on your first printer. I was so gung ho on 3d printing and had a blast for a few weeks, now its collecting dust. Lot of good stuff in the $200 range now, this is what I got, prints awesome for the $$$.

![]() Good advice. The Prusa MK3s looks pretty good. He has a pretty good 60 page book on 3D printing basics if you sign up for the newsletter. I’ll be reading that to get educated prior to any purchase. Thanks to all for the good info.
