Default 230 Blade Newbe need help

Iím getting into the hobby I picked up a 230 blade V2 s after flying the micro Heliís and a simulator

Hovers great in normal mode when I switch to Mode 1 or 2 it just takes off to the left uncontrollably. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions, it a ready to fly version so setting should be fine

I am not sure what this could be. I am assuming you have the DXe Tx. Normally the heli drifts when it is in stability (normal) mode and a trim flight is necessary. There should be no tendency to drift when switching through the modes. Put the heli on the ground and switch on throttle hold. Now switch through the modes and see what happens to the swash. In normal mode it is tilted to one side, I don't know why but this is normal behavior, but it should be level in modes 1 & 2. If it tilts in these modes to make the heli drift to the left then there is an issue. You can also test the trim on the DXe. Every time you press the trim the Tx will beep but when the trim is centre the beep is a different tone check this and set all trims to centre.

Yeah trim is my guess too. You do not want any TX trim when in stunt modes.

Would the normal mode possibly compensate for an out of level swash?

I guess, the Heli behaves like any CP Heli in the Hand of a Beginner, when You leave stability (SAFE Mode). Without Self Leveling, it will "break out" to any direction. If there was any issue, it woud not perform well in stability Mode.
