Default 230s check in

Just seeing how many of us are out there. Give us a story a +1 or a pic if you feel like it, but don't forget to vote. I currently have two airworthy 230's.

Learned how to fly CP with a 230. Was the stepping stone to everything else I have done since. Best Blade I have ever flown.

I'm one of the currently don't have one, but do follow this section. I'm planning to get a bigger heli in about 3 or 4 months after I progress far enough in my training with this Nano.

Still trying to figure out if that will be 130s or a 230s

Well, I have to say that the 230s is the best heli Ive owned. yesterday I added the MH tail motor mount mostly to aid in heat dissipation , however it does add some styling looks. I'm also considering a Lynx red rotor head even if it doesn't match the MH red swash plate just because of quality difference. My buddies Lynx swash is much more beefier than my MH and its serviceable. My 230 is 84 grams heavier than my buddies since Ive added a speed fuse and a 1300mah pack. Since my wiring upgrades, ie, Deans, Lynx gear and pinion, it flys and sounds pretty darn sweet. I'm no 3d expert and just dont risk the counter acting cyclic movements. I'm using a Dx6i, so not the best, but works. No matter what, for me, if Blade had not limited the bank angles while in stability, my flying it would be a ton better. They took away stability all together on the new Fusion 270, so thats out for me. So, with the mods and upgrades I've done, the 230s is now twice as good as it was for my style sport/scale flying. Cheers

I still have this forum on my fave/subscribed list, although I sold my 230S to another HFer on here a few months ago. I will always hold this little bird in the highest regard - took me from a green as grass noob to a confident flier who used the lessons learnt to get to a position whereby I bought and built a heli I fell in love with at first sight, my Protos 380 Evo. Such a great learning platform, Id recommend one to anyone starting off in this superb hobby!

I have 2 "daytime" 230s bnf's and one night 230s bird. I use them to warm up if I havent flown in a awhile. My other birds include an oxy 3 stretch, blade 180 trio, blade 270 cfx, T-rex 450 se/v2 , logo 500, and I'm building a Protos 380 and a Goblin Fireball. And a DT-520 .

I bought my heli from AndyO and love it. At the time I had been having terrible issues with my 180cfx and Blade was definitely off my Xmas card list but this heli has restored my faith. I think it is a nice simple heli with the electric tail but also very reliable. OK it may not be the heli for a smack 3D flier but it caters for beginners to very good fliers.

The 180 was my worst heli with way too many vibration issues and weak parts.

Mine was pretty close to the bottom for me also.

I have many flight hours with both the 230 and the 130. I can say without a shadow of doubt the 230 is all round a better performing helicopter. I've had both models roughly 12 months and I still fly the 230 on a regular basis. Hadn't flown the 130 for nearly 6 months until yesterday, I took it out to give it one last chance but it failed to impress.

I haven't sold a single model since getting into this hobby but I will soon be parting ways with the 130. Good thing is its still in mint condition so hopefully I'll get a decent return.

Got a 230 rtf after Christmas, my 2nd heli, and couldn't be happier. I made a push to get out of stability on my k110 in October and have carried that over to the 230. For me it's the right combo of size, power, ease of repair and learning platform. Am trying to nail all the basics and orientations this year before looking at anything else.

I really like a couple of xk k110's and a couple of 230's. This combination constitutes my fleet at the moment. Wish i could have them on one radio though. Anything bigger than the 230 is just to big for the yard, though i'd really like a fusion 270.

I am just interested to know what you don't like about the 130. Is it the 130X or 130S? I bought my 130X years ago now and apart from the silly plastic tail rotor drive gears its been fine. I upgraded to metal and its been fine since. Ok it doesn't have the power but for a relatively small helicopter it flies ok for me and is now my garden flier.

I got mine in November last year, my first "real" heli and my first CP.

I couldn't be happier with my choice!

130S I'm referring to, it's a completely different model, nothing like the 130x. On paper the 130S should be like the 230's little brother but for me and the way I fly it just doesn't work. There's nothing inherently wrong with it but all I can say is it just doesn't shine in any particular area, it's very average.

All my other models put a smile on my face when i fly them, wether im doing a little sport flying, mild 3D or smacking a 180 round, i enjoy them all bar the 130. I have 10 times more fun flying an xk110 which is 1S and almost 75% cheaper than a 130S
