I've been sitting on a lightly used 50 I got from a guy at work about 7 years ago. I've never fired it up. I actually only learned to hover and sort of fly recently when I got interested again and picked up a BNF Nano S2. That was just what I needed to overcome almost instant crashes after take off... I've since picked up a 150S and a 230s V2 and having a blast. The allure of trying that Raptor is getting stronger!

A local place has a Raptor 30 with OS engine, a bunch of parts, and an old JR for cheap. Sort of tempted to pick that one up too.

i fly mine every chance i get. os 50 hyper ring engine and align 600 mm bades love it. although it doesnt seem to fly as well as my 800dfc

I still have a Raptor 50. I don't fly it anymore though. Hassn't been in the air fro proly 5 or more years. I did put a flybarless system on it years ago before I quit flying.

Yes I still fly my raptors 50 titan se,a 30,a jr vibe 50,2 500s,450 se,align 250,a velocity 50,,and currently repairing 2 align 700 ns for a good friend..all flybar style.
Except for the velocity...still love the nitro feel and smell! I feelthe best tail gyro for these are the Futaba 520 .don't give up on the raptors,,they are a very good model.

I have now flown my new-to-me R30 V2 with TT39 maybe five full tanks. I used to fly 250 and 450 and this is the first time I really enjoy helis. I love this bird!

I have a nice used 30 v2 to get airborne and stumbled across 2 NIB v1 arf models for dirt cheap!! Cant believe new ones are still out there....

As for parts they are out there, you have to be persistent and look. I am able to make some with a 3D printer, like clips, boom servo mount, boom support ect.

It seems to me that if you had access to, or someone with, a lathe you could make about anything from any manufacturer in the same class work.

What are the physical differences between a Raptor head/mainshaft and an Align 550?

There were a few old threads here on hf about converting a fb head on trex , but the photos of the process are long gone. There must be a way to convert a rap head.

I put a Compass TracX FBL head on mine with a Spectrum AR7200BX controller/receiver. I also posted the steps I took to get there. I'll see if I can dig up the post. Here is a link to a FBL head that would work.

Love my 30 and found a brand spanking new one one Ebay never flown with wood blades...lol.. I'm just a sport flyer. And I love the smell of the curtis 30% it's a shame they have discontinued the curtis and the os 37. If you know where I can get either of these let me know.
