Default First Flight Shut Down.

Stunt 2 3:10 in, shuts down. It was in a inverted hover. Over grass so no damage. Eflite battery was 3.85V. Is this a common problem? I'll take it back to the LHS for a replacement after work today.

I will say this the piro comp is impressive. It's maybe to good. Lol

Lipo probably dropped below 3.7 then recovered by the time you measured it. The S2 really sucks the power in IU2. I guess it's the trade-off for performance.

My guess is LVC.

3:10 is a decent flight time for a nano in iu2

In addition to what others have said above, I'll add that if there's any additional resistance in the connection to the battery, the voltage gets sucked up even quicker than one might expect.

For example, I had a frayed wire, and I was shocked that my S2 dropped from the sky after about 1 minute. I found the battery was at 3.75V. Fixed the connector wires and everything improved.

I've read some people are experiencing the shut down issue after 20-30 flights. Number mentioned this with HV packs as well. I gave it the once over for issues. Maybe I'll fly it one or two more times. I think it's a 3n1 QC issue though. It will be modded shortly anyway. PH2 and motors. I'm not worried about it either way. Just thought I would share for others.

Thanks all.

LVC at 2:30. Flew a little 3D to see what would happen. Power felt decent when it shut down. Reset the battery and resumed, LVC after 15 seconds. Pack at 3.85ish. Charger puts back 60-70mAh (EF 150 pack.)

So you guys are correct. I wonder if the 1.25 connector is part of the issue. 3n1 is defiantly at fault. The battery has plenty of V/mAh. LVC is really high I suppose.

Pack protection feature. Unadvertised bonus... I want a switch to inhibit that feature. Lol ....built in battery storage charge feature....

Pack may be sagging way below 3.85 while flying. I think the plug is suspect #1, but if you change it, you'll also be stuck with that board. Decisions ....

I put the PH 2.0 connector on mine. Haven't had any issues. I have my timer at 5 minutes and run it to the end. I don't do hard 3D though.

I did the same, and it does make for a huge improvement.

That's what I was referring to in reference to the LVC being high. I should have been more specific. Thanks for mentioning it.

This is the first micro that I have experienced this with. I inhibit LVC on programmable ESC for this reason. This is another topic... Capacitors/backups...
