Default Logo 600se long main shaft

I see the v3 600 se has done away with the long main shaft and separated head from swash driver setup. What gives? Grips have not have not changed. O rings on the head are the same.

Also the 690sx has always used the low head albeit beefier grips.

Was there's a boom strike issue? If so what solved it if the parts have not changed?

There was no boomstrike issue to begin with. When they lowered the head on the SX by 20mm in 2013, everyone including Mikado thought there was no way of getting away with that on the SE, so the shaft remained long.

The 690 SX came along with the head sitting just marginally higher than on the 600 SX and it's been fine ever since, so the 600 SE V3 now does away with those special parts like long shaft, countersunk hub and swash driver main shaft clamp. This improves compatibility with the remaining lineup and makes it fly better overall.

Grips on 600 SX, 600 SE and 690 SX are identical except for the 690 using M5 blade bolts, whereas the 600s use M4.

Cool.

How do they make the head on the 690sx higher Johnny?

I thought all parts were the same when I cross ref them?

The head is vertically constrained with the frame through the pin engaging the front pulley. The pin in the 690's pulley sits a bit closer to the lower bearing, bringing the whole shaft up a bit. It's a difference of about 5mm.

Oh no kidding. I didn't think to look at the pulley. Very smart idea they had!

Thanks!

The kit I just got from Mikadousa came with the long shaft and separated swash driver. I'm wondering if I was sold the wrong kit it's supposed to be a v3?

All new kits have the vbar head.. swash drivers on the head block. Thatís for the 550ís and 600ís. Not sure for the 600se cause that runs 690ís just like the 690sx.. BUT, the 690 sx has the vbar head too.

If Iím doing 690ís, I want the full 690 sx.. not the 600 se.

Yeah it's a 600se. I'm confused because they show it like this.

Says on the description you shoud have the one piece head. You have a v2 it sounds like.

Mikado customer service is horrid. Only part I hate about owning their helis. And I own 5 and have owned 10 at one time.

They're truly clueless on customer help and service.

If you paid for a v3, it should BE a v3.

So in order for this to be right I need the shorter main shaft, one piece yoke and the shorter swash to grip rods. I'm assuming everything else should be the same. If you see anything I'm forgetting let me know thanks

What canopy did it come with?

I also think it uses these too:

The pulley helps bring the head up without using a longer mainshaft as the pin slot is up higher in this version.

The 690 swash is the upgraded one that doesn't fall apart on flight 3.

Also weird. They manual that is connected to the v3 kit has the v3 canopy but uses the two piece head style and such in the manual.

So maybe your kit is ok?
