Default Stock SH2060 vs Lynx DS-895-HV Servos

Ok guys.

I'm tired of replacing the gears in the stock SH2060 servos so was considering the Lynx with metal gears.

Has anyone had any issues with Lynx DS-895-HV servo plastic mounting tabs breaking off in a crash?

I ask because I've also had the mounting tabs break off on the stock servos so I'm not sure if it's worth replacing all 3 with the Lynx metal gear upgrade servos if the tabs are a weak point.

I'm also not sure I like the weight penalty since the 180 is not exactly lightweight heli.

Stock SH2060- 4g
Lynx DS-895- 5.45g

Any input from the 180 crew?

I use the Lynx DS-895-HV in an Oxy2 and the plastic tabs have not broken, even in a crash. In another Oxy2, I have the metal case Lynx DS-895-HV and they are solid.

I would not hesitate to use the Lynx DS-895-HV in a 180CFX.

Sounds like they would be a good upgrade.

I just though a few more guys would chime in with positive reports.

Are you guys using the plastic case DS-895s or the aluminum cased ones on the 180?

$45 per servo seems pretty steep for a partial aluminum cased micro servo, IMO.

I’ve tried both the plastic and metal case servos. Both work fine. If I were setting up a new heli I’d go plastic to save some money, but I got the metal ones used & cheap. The metal ones do look nicer IMO which I totally do not notice when in the air.

Edit: Oh just realized you were asking about the 180, never mind. I was thinking Oxy 2.

I'd go with the plastics, no worries.

I'm still using the stock servos. They work fine if you're careful when flying and taking them off or putting them on.
