Default Tail gain

I was wondering if to set the tail gain in the Tx I set the bank to Aux->Gain in the software then adjust the gain in the Tx to a value where there is no tail wag.. if that makes sense..

What is bank? Is that the same thing as flight mode?

I would not think of it as flight mode but as a complete set of flying parameters.

The bank includes the value for head speed which people generally associate with flight mode but then it contains more than that and is generally much easier to program in the vbar software than in a transmitter.

Is the Brain2 easier to program than the VBar? (I might switch to the Brain2 if it's easier)

Is there a way to assign the bank to a switch on a Spektrum radio?

Yes, of course. you can assign 'any' free channel to be the one for bank-switching if Tx allows you. just play with the channels in this screen shown in the attachment... it's an example of how i do use the channels (iX12)

#5 (Gear) is linked to FM switch (switch, not channel) in my case and switching banks. #1 is assigned to Aux 3 and my throttle channel (i am controlling throttle curves from Tx. more than 3 modes in use)... Esc is connected to Aux 3. #7 used for tail gains (via Aux 2). #8 is telling Neo Motor On/Off/Autorotation status and #9 is used for Rescue.

... so this is just an example - but everything is working (as with 'old' vbar before - i am still using 2 in parallel to the Neos and dont like models to be different). autorotation & bailout, rescue, tail gain and throttle from Tx, bankswitching independent of motor on/off etc.

Ciao

TX setup is here https://www.vstabi.info/en/neo_transmitter On Spektrum you use the throttle curves to enable bank switching.

.... yes, this is one possibility. but (in default setup) it leads to one problem: as normally on Spektrum throttle curves are linked to FM with Hold (Motor On/Off) => you cannot switch banks without motor being On. this is not so cool during initial setup of a heli or later tuning... a lot easier is a 'digital switch' assigned to FM switch (or any other) used for bank switching => you can switch through banks without Motor On. so you just attach your computer during a short landing... switch through banks and set the values you like to... and start again. the same setting allows you to do autorotations with any bank you like.

Ciao
