Default Logo 600 Motor Pinion Question and Help

Hey guys!
Been around a decade since I last posted but I know if there is a place to ask for help, this is it.
I recently got back into the hobby and have been enjoying flying my old Logo 500 3D converted to Vbar head.
That said, I decided to bite the bullet and build a Logo 600. The build has gone without a hitch but I’ve got to the point that it’s time to mount the motor and pinion in order to go forward.
Here’s the thing: the motor I’m using is a Scorpion HKIII 4035 500kv (got it on the cheap during the Black Friday sales).
A good friend of mine and I (Sr. Michael Ludtke), using Mr. Mel’s calculator, believe that a 12 tooth pinion would be optimal for this motor Thing is, it’s on back order everywhere!
Should I shoot for an 11 tooth pinion or a 13?
Heli will be flown on a 12s 3500-3800mah.
If 12 tooth is the way to go, any ideas where I could find one?
Thanks to all of you for your time and advice.
Regards
Nino

Go with the 11.. it will be better on the esc.. if you went with the 13, and a lower head speed, that won’t be good. Or just get both.
I think I’m running the 11 in mine at 2200 and it’s perfect for me and the gearing is optimal

What Kv motor are you running Tony? An 11T with the 500Kv seems like 2100 max. More likely 2000 rpm for avg performance according to Mr Mel Head Speed Calc.

mine is the stock 450kv.. he cant get the 12t.. I would rather have a smaller tooth in there than a bigger one..
my gearing is fine and I don't need mr mels, but thanks.. I use the gov out info in my tx, so im geared correctly.
not every body flys balls to the wall.

Cromanon what is the rpm ranges you plan on flying. In my opinion the 600 does not need crazy rpm to perform well, but everyone's style is different .

Yep. Was spinning a 11t on 450 kv, still loads of fun.

Hey Dennis. Was thinking between 1900-2100 governed. Would it be feasible on 11 tooth?

Yes you will be fine with this but will be topping out around 2150 to 2200 max on an external governor

I haven't flown mine In a while, but I think 2200 was very snappy for me.
I was impressed.

I fly with the 450kv motor and the 11 tooth pinion. I prefer around 1900 for my high headspeed but also fly lots around 1750 and really like it. Still does everything really well but you have to fly it through the maneuvers a bit more which makes things smoother. This all comes down to personal choice and opinion so pick your poison, get out and have fun .

Thanks for the replies. Nino decided to get the 11T that was available. Should be good to 2100 at most. Even 2050 would be fine. We know the 600 is a light 600. And Nino as a Sport/light 3D pilot he should be good.

I was just mentioning I could get to 2200 with the 11t.. I don't fly there.. I think its 1900, sometimes less.. that's why a 11t would be better than a 12t.
if someone is flying at 1900 with a 12t and a 450, to me its geared wrong. it will be worse with a 500kv motor.
