Default Slowly progressing

Hello

I'm back into the hobby after an 8 year hiatus. I must say that the S2 it the best micro heli I've flown.
I started with the rtf version, flying in stability z. I can't say that I enjoyed that experience too much. So I bought a used dx6i. Now I'm flying in stability mode, and have been at it for a couple of months.
I'm pretty decent at hovering and can fly circuits and figure 8's.
I think I'm starting to outgrow stability mode and want to progress to idle up.
But I want to do it slowly since I don't have a huge budget for spare parts.

I'd like to get used to the cyclic before I get into collective management, so my question is can I program linear throttle and pitch curves in iu1.
I believe I read somewhere that the board ignores TX programming for ui1 and runs 100% throttle regardless.

Any help would be great
