Default Newby Vbar Questions

I last flew helicopters about 15 years ago. I am just getting back into the hobby and playing catch up with some of the developments including flybarless. I currently fly with Spektrum. I can see a lot of chatter about Mikado Vbar. A couple of questions please?

Would I need to purchase a Mikado Vbar TX and well as a Vbar Neo, or can the Vbar Neo be used with my Spektrum TX? If so how? What are the advantages of having both the Mikado TX and Neo?

Thanks.

With the VBC/t from Mikado you can do all the setup and setting changes from the TX, full telemetry if you use a compatible ESC or UI sensor.

Neo does work with other transmitters, but you will need a serial bus connection from your RX.

Full integration.

Spektrum offers integration with a few FBL units (iKon2/Brain2, Spirit, etc), but not as complete and/or as elegant as the Mikado radio with the Neo VLink units.

You just need to pick up a Spektrum or compatible satellite. FWIW, LemonTx makes some nice ones that are about 1/3 of the price. If you haven't bought the vbar yet, check into the MSH Brain/Ikon, a lot of features for the money and great support here on the forums from the makers.

You really need a Mikado radio to enjoy the "full" VBar Neo experience. If you are not committed to purchasing a Mikado radio, I recommend other FBL units. For modern Spektrum radios, I recommend Spirit and Brain2/iKon2 as top contenders, but there are other options.
