It sure beats the 50W non-ceramic iron I was using. It heated up the wire and connector so quickly that I ended wicking a bunch of solder up the motor wires due to not paying attention. Need to work on my technique. Iím not used to working that fast.

A good soldering iron, used properly, will actually help you to not wick the solder so much. If the iron is able to pump tons of heat into the wire (or whatever) quickly, you can get the solder melted and be done with the joint before the solder even has time to make it further up the wire.

I got done soldering up some XT90 to XT60 battery adapters for charging purposes. I used that as practice before soldering up my ESC with connectors.

Testing out this location and orientation. Seems okay if I can tie the battery connector down.

one velcro strap, around the upper frame.. should contain the esc and lipo conn. maybe even the motor wires... i like using straps instead of ty-wraps, that way i can get in there whenever and not have to use more ty-wraps.

i use elect tape on the frame so it doesnt cut the straps. canopy protector works good too.

Redid the wiring around the FBL on my XXtreme. Looks and feels so good. Somehow it's always been a roadblock to completion of a build for me. I feel now I'll be looking forward to the next one

Simmed for the first time in many, many months today. Tried out neXt. Couldnít be easier to setup. Plus they have my local field on there! How cool is that!?

If I stare hard enough at my Oxy 2, it just might put itself back together

Just finished ordering parts for my Gaui X5 after a -failed- Rescue ‘test’. (I don’t think I’ll be testing that again) inverted and accelerated into the ground from level Flight.

- boom
- main shaft
- feathering shaft
- main gear
- lots of ball links...

Frame was tore up around where the main gear was pushed into it. Canopy... I wonder what else I’ll find.

updating the vbar neo's to the new firmware.
I did some quick testing with the 'anti gravity' function on my logo 550, but I don't feel the need to use it. It flew great without.

I just cut off and replaced the throttle/BEC and BEC slave JST connectors on my new YGE 135LVT. Not sure what the issue was, but neither had a firm hold to male pin servo extenders I had. They were easy to slide right out and only a millimeter or two of metal on metal connection between the male and female parts. Kind of silly on a piece of equipment this expensive.

I cut off the shitty ones and crimped on my own. Getting my own crimpers and connectors from Hansen Hobbies has been one of those essential purchases.

I agree with the crimpers and connector set from Hansen Hobbies. Professional crimps every time.

Finished repairing my Goblin, back in the air. It seems Pyro 800 and Hobbywing not so friendly on 14S and 2000 rpm so switching out the ESC as the Pyro looks so cool under the canopy!

Banshee on the bench. Managed to do the boom, tail fin, and a skid in, so replacing those. Next will be the Spectre that also took a spill but only need to replace skids and lower bits.
