Iíve been working on my old TRex 450 with a flybar and realizing why we donít fly with flybars anymore.

Default 500X battery holder

I just received some pieces so I could assemble a new battery holder(s) for 500X. The original one has the latching tab short and I had it just slide out, out of the rails without releasing the pull tab. I had to roll my own. Fits and locks perfectly.

Today, I started taking a 29 year old Hirobo Shuttle apart.

I seem to have been working on helicopters for the last week or so.

I swapped out the receiver in one of my 450's (removed the RG613 BX and replaced it with the RG012BX "Postage Stamp" receiver). The RG613 BX will go in the Shuttle and the 450 will be a bit lighter.

Blade 500 servo cable rerouting. Bought it already built and just cleaning it up. Probably the motor bearings tomorrow. Always hate motor bearings.

Finished with the ESC and servo wiring on my A-7. Used nylon multifimilent sleeving on the wires which is much more flexible than braided PET but trickier to install on the wire.

I took four machines out today (three to tune, one for fun) all were equipped with JR TAGS-Mini FBL units.

The first was my old, faithful, 6S Forza 450. I recently removed the Mini-Blue VBar from my Forza 450 and replaced it with a TAGS-Mini.

The second one was a 3S Forza 450 for JR PROPO

The last one was a used Compass Atom which I stretched last week. It had been tuned as a 500 (running 430mm blades previously). I needed to re-tune it with the longer blades (huge improvement with the stretch it-it just took a while to find all the parts to do it).

The fourth machine (which didn't need anything) was one of my old Trex 450 SE's.

Make sure to stop by the Jeti form:

Lots of us to help out and it’s pretty quiet overall. There’s one video that really helped me get started:

Helicopter Programming: Basic Setup (12 min 53 sec)

I just switched to Jeti mid summer as well. I’ve been super happy with it overall!

Tonight I’m playing around with some of these RDLohr’s servo spacers. I’ve already got some spacers that are 3D printed and work, but hey, why not try these out for fun?

Very happy!

I mounted them backward because I have very little clearance on the front face of the servo due to a long servo arm ball, plus the servos need a spacer on the back for geometry reasons.

(If anyone else is using the ProModelers DS555BLHV, the 20x10x5 spacers are perfect.)

Thanks Rick!

For me it's a novelty just thinking about helis again. Last year I barely flew a handful of times, and then we've had a very wet and windy winter.

My recent project was setting up an Ikon fbl on my Beam E4 SE.

I painted the second coat of a red stripe on the bottom of my Goblin 500 Sport white boom for better visibility. As soon as it's dry I will re-assemble and install RT blades on it. I was using Switch and really liked them but I used RT's on my 570 so I wanted to give RT 510's a try on my 500.

Alternating a bit between doing a bit of adjustment on a Forza 700 and changing the front axle bumpers on the old Ford.

It's cool outside today, and I am not looking forward to laying on the pavement under the car.

Default What are you working on today?

Tonight I'm working on my piro directions while skids are toward me (with main shaft horizontal). Rudder inputs aren't natural to my brain in that orientation. I'll probably spend a week or so on it, then move to skids left and skids right orientations for rudder. This is all in the neXt sim.
