Working on my taxes. But I'm gonna make time to change the DFC ball links on my 500. Came down a little hard in an auto this morning. The DFC links pulled out from the plastic link ends. I don't think theres any other damage except for a small dent in the tail boom but that's just slight. Might check the feathering shaft to make sure it didn't get bent.

Working on programming my first Vcontrol, and Neo. Setup on this thing is a breeze, can’t wait to fly it!

Not an RC helicopter... or even an RC model, but, it's a model. It's my winter project... a 1:48 scale Su-33 that I've been working on since September. Still have a lot to do, but it is finally looking like an airplane.

This is a dry-fit, so ignore the leaning stabilizers.

Thank you sir! I've got to get motivated and get this done. Progress has been slow... but also I went skiing every weekend since NYE, so, that's why.

If I remember correctly, the cockpit detail and finish was excellent - looking forward to seeing it completed.

Default What are you working on today?

Yesterday I played around with my new iCharger X6. Prior to this I was using a HobbyMate D6 Duo which is basically a 2-channel ISDT.

The little button/lever input on the X6 doesn’t bother me as much as I feared it would. Joshua Bardwell had me concerned, but no real problems on that front. Even the program settings doesn’t bother me. It’s sorta neat to have everything on the right setting, but you do have to spend a few minutes setting it up correctly.

My only gripe is that when scrolling to different settings on a given screen my color blind eyes cannot tell easily which option is selected. There is a red border around the selected option as opposed to the default gray, but I can’t see it that well. Not impossible, but not easy. I’m gonna see how responsive the company is to firmware suggestions.

Grey, speaking of a wright flyer... I've got the balsa Guillow's model that I bought at The Museum of Flight in Seattle some 6 years ago. I got it to 80% within a month and then ended up putting it on the shelf because other life things came up. Needs about 5 hours of work to finish. It's all built, covered with tissue paper (royal PITA) and mostly rigged. All I need to do is carve the engine out of a piece of wood and then attach the tail, engine, chains, and the little platform where the pilot held on for dear life. I'll paint the engine and other hardware, but aside from that it's just natural balsa colored.

This was really more like building an RC plank than a typical model. Though the kit does give one a pretty good foundation to build a super-detailed scale model, some scratch-building will be required to do so.

Talking Mine is awaiting rigging - lil bugger was painful

I always preferred 72nd just for handling. Most of my larger RC Scale stuff gets it's detail work from following the smaller stuff ! Panel Lines - Door's ect .

You know why the Wright Flyer was a pusher ?? and He laid down ?
So when he crashed he didn't get ejected threw the prop's. That would hurt !
Just kinda flopped out in front their - in the grass ! Let's do that again !!!!!

Still didn't fly ! If Percy Pilcher had survived, he could of been the 1st - that hurt

They still were not the 1st - Quite scandalous for the time ! Big $$$$

Progress so far on the 3D printed plane. Still lots of printing to do. Nothing is glued, all dry fitting. 2 more sections for each wing half to go. This is a big plane

Think they are standing around Praying or praying for a Test Pilot : With enuff power ANY THING will fly - Including a Bowling Ball - That does not look like fun - But Hilarious directly from the CAD dept of Lead Robster - Good Credit Score !

My spice is the one is back - Looking all homely with bent wing's / kinda a cripple and lonely.
People do like freaks although - The Albatross's

What's the size of printer you need for this? And the price for the drawings?

NO pitch NO fun

This is the crematory, my power supply, always a work in progress. Has been with me for a looong time. At the moment 2000W of power and 500W of homebuilt computer controlled discharger. Power display is also home built.

She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts...

Look at 3DLabPrint's models. They're usually between $25-60. Most of them are pretty big. Hard to make a small model that doesn't need to fly at mach 3 to stay in the air because of weight. Pretty sure all of the models there fit on a standard 220x220x220 printer, because they're designed to be printed on a Prusa i3 Mk2-Mk3. You need Simplify3D to print these because it offers features that Cura and PrusaSlicer do not. Printing takes days to weeks. Lots of very long prints to make a single plane.

Default What are you working on today?

I’ve been using a single 12 volt DC power supply to power my charger. Prepping a second identical one by floating its DC negative so I can get 24 volts.

If anyone else wants to make their own 24 V power supply from dirt cheap electronics, I used this video as a primer.
How To Build A 24v / 2400W Power Supply | BEST BANG FOR BUCK 24V PSU (13 min 11 sec)

EDIT: It ain’t pretty, but it’ll do. I made two 24 V outputs and one 12 V output.
