Here is an example of the LRK in Femm 4.2. You only need once to see the inductive coupling in the new winds to know whats better.

Id like to contact the laser service as they might be able to lower my prototype parts. I need lams cut for this PMFSM.Truly just the "C" cores in pieces. If I can lower the price then I might be able to reinvest it in laminated pole pieces to fit in the spokes. This is a port of a SRM so the rotor has no magnets and is all steel. There's nothing n hobby that will match its torque which starts at a standstill extremely high

Thanks for the information.

Last contact I had from them was from Danny Watson 205-590-3396 back in 2015
The quote from Polaris was around $500. I think they do high production stamping, so this could be the higher cost.

Does Femm requires a CAD drawing of the rotor and stator? MotorAnalysisPM requires just a segment then it looks like it to math up them to form a complete part. This is were I have problems even though the CAD file is correct. Next I will try to import a complete rotor to see what happens.

Take care

Yes prototypes are def more costly with them. The laminations are c5 insulated which is about the best insulation between the plates available. They work hand in hand with Dr Hendershot's motorsolve company. Im in full communication with them. Since I haven't seen how the other company produces the stack I can't say how it compares. I do know with thin space age sheets it's pretty important not to bend them after they have been aged. Sometime letting them assemble the stack has merit.

Femm allows imports and exports in the drawing exchange format (DXF). You can also copy in bitmap and meta file formats.

Happy Harmonics,
Hubert

Edit
You may be able to export to another format that your new software will agree with.

For another very powerful evaluation software take a look at JMAG. You can create the model directly there.

So you can create the DXF in motor xp studio then import it into femm. It seems to have all the materials in the build studio. You can build the winding as well.
