Default DS-12 Spirit and Heli-X How to??

Used Heli-X with Spektrum USB wireless gizmo and DX6 for years.

Just received a Jeti and cannot get them to talk.

My old wireless dongle from HobbyKing will only yield three channels recognized by Heli-X.

Jeti supplied USB cable doesn't work at all.

What specific dongle has been used successfully? Anybody get wireless to work and how?

Thanks for your help.

Somewhat frustrated.

You can use any USB dongle that will take PPM and work with Heli-X. Then, you provide the PPM from a Jeti Receiver. You must power the receiver from the PPM connection, battery, or a seperate USB connection. If you search this forum for "simulator" you will probably find some examples.

Here is a post 6 years ago about a wireless adapter I made for the Phoenix simulator. I have since replaced the Phoenix USB adapter with another USB dongle, but you get the idea.

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...ostcount=15987

I will post a photo of my current adapter when I get a chance.

Surprised the USB cable won't work. Works perfect with AccuRC.

When you plug in the Jeti, it should ask you to start the transmitter and then ask to connect to the PC.

If it’s not doing that then there’s a problem with something. Bad port on the TX, bad cable, bad port on the PC or not enough power on the PC USB port (happens on laptops)

You should see these questions on your Jeti and you have to answer the first question in 5 seconds I think. You can also hit the menu button and scroll down to system and then scroll down to USB and select it. If you don't do this Windows will not detect your tx.

Just to be clear, the cable I am talking about is the one included with the TX. It is a USB on one end and a different connector on the other that goes into the top left of the T X - called the USB PC Interface.

When I plug the TX end in, the TX does nothing. When I plug the USB into my computer, the computer says it does not recognize the USB plug and it is faulty.

If you can, try a different USB cable. I had a problem with the one that came with my DS-16 and I have since used a different USB cable.

Its a standard mini usb cable and any should work, I use one I had lying around. As mentioned, with the usb cable plugged into pc then upon plugging in to TX it should ask if you want to power on then it will ask if you want to connect usb. If your pc does recognise the TX (as it should come up as an external storage because of memory card in TX) then there is more than likely an issue with usb driver. You should see the game controller icon in your device list in control panel like the attached image.

Try this and see if it makes a difference:

Go to here:

Then here:

And see if your tx does this:

If the tx does this and you plug it in and still nothing or an error, have you tried a different USB port?

Thank you for the great instructions.

I have been trying this with a second USB cable verified to work and still nothing. USB ports on the Desktop verified to work with other items.

Calling Esprit tomorrow for input. Will keep you posted.

Do you perhaps have another pc you could plug it into?

The problem was all of my own making.

As soon as I received the Jeti, I immediately took it apart to make the switch style and layout match my old one. In doing so I accidentally disconnected the cable from the USB circuit board, then stuck it into the wrong slot on the motherboard. Hence, no USB function and a lot of unnecessary fumbling around.

Thanks again for all of the help!!
