![]() Is this a safe update for a DX18v2? Like to have the latest firmware, but a little nervous....too quiet

![]() Haven't heard anything bad about this version, but of course your mileage may vary based on how you use it.
2.06 was only out for a very short time because there was a bug in the Forward Programming for the new receivers. 2.07 fixed that. As mentioned, most of the new stuff in 2.06 pertains to features of the new receivers including a lot of updates to how the transmitter handles telemetry. Prior to that, 2.05 was pretty solid. |

If you log into your SpektrumRC.com account, and assuming your DX18g2 is registered, check the latest version for your DX18g2. You may not find a newer version or you may find a version that is even newer than the referenced by the OP for his old DX7.

![]() Spektrum has finally straightened all that out with Airware 2.xx. All of the "Gen2" DX-series transmitters that are still supported all get the same version number of firmware. Exact features will still vary by model, of course, but at least the numbering is consistent now so that one number is current across the line.
