Default Differences in models???

Getting back into flying my older trex 450 and converting it to FBL. Looking at getting a spektrum FBL unit but not sure what the differences are. The original was the 7200 correct? Now there is the 7210, and these other 6*** models. What's the difference and what would be the best for back into flying and mostly does sport flying.

Converting to FBL will be a bit of a learning process no matter what system you decide to go with.

I would recommend going with what your local pilots use and can help setup and get it up and running.

Regards,

AR 7210BX is capable of an "pro" upgrade providing stability mode and rescue. That's the main difference to AR7200.
The AR636 Units perform very fine in direct drive tail modells like Blade 230S. In the 270/360 modells with pitch tail they are often reported to perform poor.
For a direct drive tail i would recommend the AR636, its best FBL for this purpose. For any pitch tail modell i would reccomand the AR7210BX. That's what i prefer.

As long as you can take the pre-programming of the helicopter coding in the AR636 and use servos and ESCs that work with it, then you are good to go. Once you have a situation where one of the servos (or more) need to be reversed, you are pooched and will not be able to use it. You cannot directly program a 636 to work with any old helicopter. If you have got it to work, then you have been very lucky or had to do some surgery to the servo mounts in the frame like I did.

If you find an AR7200 or an AR7210, they really lend themselves well to a 450 size machine and that I can attest to. With everything completely at default, I installed one on a T-Rex 450 Pro that had been converted to FBL and it flies like a dream. The 7210s last mear moments on any used forum but the 7200s last a few seconds longer. You might find one in an LHS so be quick if you like the simplicity of a one stop FBL unit.

The FC6250HX is an all out modern unit that can have extra items attached that can give you data from your ESC and battery with the Smart system. You do not need to have all that extra if you want to use the helicopter with the existing hardware in it but you do need to have a Spektrum transmitter with the latest firmware installed to be able to program the FBL unit for now. There may be a PC program in the future to be able to set the 6250 without the need of Forward Programming in the TX. However, once you have setup one of these with the TX only, you will want that on your other machines. Of that, I speak with experience, lol. Take care.
