Default Nitro gov

I am just final programming and some testing on my 6250hx Kraken 580 nitro!
Gov would be great but for now throttle curves because I can't wait

Good progress on the nitro governor and I have quite a few flights on it.

Anyone interested in doing some nitro governor beta testing?

Regards,

Nitro governor is complete however we are on hold until the next transmitter airware update to support the new forward programming verbiage.

Hi Brian,

Now that the nitro version is ready for release, when do you think that an electric version will be showing up?

To help justify the need for electric governor....

What esc's have poor performing governors built in? and would require a internal fc governor?

1. Castle - good, not perfect but very much acceptable
2. Avian (updated firmware) very good
3. Hobbywing very good
4. YGE very good

Hi Brian,

I had some serious trouble with setting up the 120A Avian ESC because even with the latest firmware, it was not anywhere near as adjustable as the HW and therefore would torque very hard the instant the motor had power applied to it. It was so bad that the helicopter would wobble until the speed came up and the entire reason for scale having a slow spool up is to look like the real thing, not a lawnmower on crack. You're right that the Castles are good and at times so is the HW but I have no experience with the YGE. I have also had issues where an HW would have difficulty as it handed off to an iKON2 governor and would give a hard push to the blades enough to upset their position. In a perfect world, we would not have to tighten down a set of blades to the point that there is no lead-lag (had that happen in mid air and it was ugly) so when a blade does get out of alignment, it can nearly bring a helicopter to shake itself apart in mid air. Sorry, but the Avian was replaced by a Castle and it will not be changed again. I agree that the Castle can do with some improvements in gain control. Other than that, I am sticking with the 6250s where they are as they are doing a very good job. Take care.

Don
