Also hard to tell, but the yellow gov wire can stay with the redundant power wires from esc and plug into the gov port.
I don't know if you separated them as it's all shrink wrapped.

All power and ground rails are common in the brain2.

Port 456 is the only power no no.

Thats too funny. I didn't see that port tucked under the capacitors and its not on the data sheet. Lol, I knew that was what was needed, I just didn't realize it was there already.

Good point here as well. It came wired out on a seperate connector so I took advantage of that for the capacitor. With the redundant power wires would have been the better place for it. If I ever take it apart I may well switch that but it will work fine as I have it too. Good input.

That port also sends telemetry data from the ESC..

Actually, I think I do now see that port in the ESC diagram for connecting the Multifunction LCD Program Box, or a WIFI express. It doesn't mention telemetry (or the fan for that matter). Where would it be connected to perform that function?

Telemetry is part of the FBL and tx setup. You need to run a single wire to the programming pin on the connector at the ESC. What I always do is slide this pin into the ESC fan connector. Its really the only way to get both to work unless you wire for separate power to the fan. Pull up your MSH program on a pc and click on manuals at the top. Read up on tx integration and telemetry setup for HW ESCs.

The programming port (fan power as well) signal wire connects to the 5 pin of the [4 - 5 - 6] port of the Ikon2 FBL. Only one wire is necessary, DO NOT apply ground/power to the 4-5-6 port!

In the Gov Setup of the Wizard, you’ll need to select Hobbywing Telemetry as well. It’s described better in the ‘Telemetry’ manual included with the setup tool documents.

Thanks. That's the missing link I needed. I had enabled the Hobbywing Telemetry and was trying to figure out where that information was fed to the controller. Sounds like it will be helpful that I included separate power wiring for the fan. That frees up the port for me to use now.

I need to run one more wire now from the signal line on that port to pin 5 of the 4-5-6 port on the controller. From the picture Thickfog provided of the port, it looks like the signal line is closest to the other wires.

Thank you guys!

Rick

For the fan (I never run one BTW) you could just insert a telemetry wire/pin into the open position of the fan connector. Then plug the other end into the 4-5-6 port (center pin is 5)

I make all my own extensions/harnesses though...

Since my fan is already separately powered, I'll just dedicate the port to this signal. I've never had a fan before either. Thought I would try it and play with the results. I usually don't run into heat related problems flying in New England, lol.

I got to hover my OXY 5 in my driveway today. It was nice and quiet and very smooth. It seemed very well mannered for the simple hoovering I did. I was going to go a little further in my front yard but neighborhood walkers were taking notice and I didn't want to put them at risk with a freshly built machine. So far so good though. Can't wait for Spring at the flying field!
