they should just stop with the 700's already and work on the new 500...

they already have plenty of 700's to pick from.....it's almost like they make more money the bigger the heli?

I have a feeling the raw is the first step to admit that all the world championship helis are pods and booms and not the more expansive/heavy goblyns

Yeah I was a bit disappointed that they did 3 Kraken electric 700s then the new F3C Genesis. Now another 700 that may not follow what people love about the helis.

I'd rather see a Kraken inspired 500

Now if SAB can pull off a tubular boom for a similar price as Gaui, then they might be on to something how about a pair of booms for $15?!

https://www.anythingheli.com/gaui-ta...s-gaui-x7-nx7/

Get the canopy down under $40-50 and then we’re cooking with gas. Make sure the shafts are cheap enough and the bearings good enough to survive some crashes and you’ve got a serious beater.

It’s a different perspective on your typical SAB helicopter.

Have to say the belt tensioner looks fancy.

Absolutely, that is one of the things that attracted me to a Goblin to start with.

35mm is pretty beefy, maybe they can still keep the clean look; a gobby w. boom AND support struts would be pretty hard to swallow........

Agreed - if its Oxy / chronos RSR style without supports it’ll be a nice change of pace. I’ll never own another heli with supports purely for aesthetic preference. If it does have them i at least hope they are like the Diabolo’s, a bit more tucked in and higher in the frame.

Everyone complains about something these days. With the amount of companies that have been closing shop and everything going on with the hobby in general, I would think everyone would be very happy to see companies churning out new ideas and models.

When you total the Kraken, then just buy the next model? SAB has supported older models that are discontinued, they just don't make them in kit form anymore.

Let face, the RC heli community in general is a "bling" crowd, latest and greatest sells. It's not good or bad, it just is what it is.

No complaint here. Will be interesting to see how the SAB fandom reacts to bucking traditional.

It looks like they did a rework of the Kraken transmission and servo mounting.

I’ll guess that the geometry is the same for the servos and hopefully the interface to the frame will fit into existing Krakens. This would be good in terms of long term parts availablity. Internally I’m still hoping for helical gears like the K580.

The servo mounting looks like it’s meant to be more forgiving in a crash, better to bend the mount than damaging the transmission.

At the same time, I saw a comment about replacing the upper bearing. It looks like the transmission upper bearing is removable, the upper housing is now two pieces allowing for an easier replacement of the bearings.

If those are accurate then it looks like they are trying to re-use some parts from the Sport (notice the swash)

I do like the belt tensioner as being new to Goblin and belts in general I don't know exactly how tight to make it.

No one is complaining or unhappy obviously - of course we're all looking forward to a completely fresh airframe from SAB. I don't see the harm in discussing design elements in a constructive manner - who knows, maybe a SAB rep will see it and pass it on as a topic to consider.

I've had boom supports come loose on me couple times in my flying "career" and, if it wasn't for a cross brace that I always use/add, those supports would have gone into the blades and cost me an airframe most likely.

I'm sure it will be a nice machine either way and plenty of people will be getting one.
