Default Dx6 safe mode

Hi guys*

Wondered if someone can point me in the right direction not being up on dx stuff.*

I have a dx6 and checking it works as it should.*

Now when pressing safe mode in monitor screen GER actually increases to 150% from 100%, only way it appears to reduce (not sure if safe mode is working) is by having it in stunt mode.*

Stunt 1 puts it at 0% and stunt 2 sets it to -100%

Pretty sure that’s back to front? This is with the downloaded settings from spectrum for the nano.*

Want to fly the 230 but want to make sure this is all set correctly.*

Thank you*

Thatís the standard setup for the Nano and the 230. The gear channel controls the SAFE functions. For the Nano, 150 is Panic, 100 is Stability Z, 0 is Stability and -100 is Agility(SAFE off). The Nanoís FBL seems to have the flight modes hard matched with SAFE so you can not separate FMs from SAFE activation. For the 230, 150 is Panic, 100 is Stability, 0 and -100 are SAFE off. The 230 allows you to put SAFE on a separate switch independent of the flight modes. I suggest using some training gear for the initial take offs in Stability mode. The FBLís corrections can get a little squirrelly while it spools up, particularly if the factory set-up is off in any way.

Hi Mace

Thanks for that. To me that seemed backwards.

I would use the panic button really unless I need to change to a flipped switch.

Just trying to get my head around it and how I’ll get the safe to work if I started losing control.

Been using the nano around the house (tough little thing) and getting used to that as it needs constant adjustment.

Looking to only hover and land with the 230 maybe try the odd figure of 8 till I get confident with it.

The nano file is quite a bit different than the 230 s, below is a link to the 230 s v2 tx config file.

https://www.spektrumrc.com/ProdInfo/...0%20S%20V2.SPM

Operation per the 230 s v2 manual settings (and the file linked above);

Gear = 100; Normal / Stability Mode (tx switch B position 0)

Gear = 0; Stunt 1 Agility Mode (tx switch B position 1)

Gear = -100; Stunt 2 Agility Mode (tx switch B position 2)

Gear = 150 / Panic Recovery Mode (switch I - Bind Button Pressed )

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi there.

Thank you for that. Yes I get the nano is totally different to the 230.

I have still to fly the thing, can’t find the time or weather but eager to. I downloaded the existing v1 for the 230 as that’s all they had.

I will look at what you linked and check it.

Thank you.

Is there an option to set random amount of hovering pitch in panic recovery mode? (I know its set to some default value, but if we make heli heavier say with bigger battery, then it will decline instead of hover when panic recovery enabled with this fixed set amount of pitch)
