Default Alternate way to update DX8 G2?

I haven't been able to log into My Spekturm account for a long time.
Recently bought a Conscendo Evo and can't take full advantage of the AR637. My radio is stuck on 2.0.

My Spektrum wont take the password they send me. I Emailed two weeks ago and talked to them a week ago. However I got to say that he said the support team was busy. But jeez just send the link to reset my password!
Probably stuck on a Fedex truck in Memphis.

If you know of another way to update do please tell.

If you know your username (probably an e-mail address), then there's a "Forgot Password" link right below the password box where you log into the account at the top of their home page.

That link takes you here:

You have to be able to get into the Web site to update firmware. The update file is keyed specifically to your serial number; you can't get the file from someone or somewhere else.

Thank for your reply, I've been to that page a hundred times. I've used both Email and user name and get the link in my Email so that tells me both of them are good. I'll just have to be patient.

Personally, I'd find the SN in the menu of the DX8g2 and then call Horizon Hobby tech support.
Ask if they will verify that the SN is registered to the username that you claim is yours and ask them if they will email you the SPMTX.SAX file for the latest code using that SN.

In my experience, if an automatic "Forgot Password" link does not send you an email with a link to reset your password, then there are only 2 things that would be the problem:
- You are using the wrong username
- The email reply is being sent to the Spam / Junk Mail folder in your email account

I don't know if the guys that run the site are up to speed on security, but on some sites, if you try to use a non-existent username to reset the password, it will not tell you it is the wrong username and no email will be sent. So I'll go happily along thinking I am using the right username and submit a 1/2 dozen password reset requests.

If you call them, they may be able to tell you the username you think is correct actually is.

I have had trouble like that before and it was because I was mistaken on what some of the characters were in my user name or pass word. Check close that your not interchangeing D and letter o and number 0 or i and l or I and L or any other similar letters and numbers. Plus upper and lower case. Then are you useing the right password and user name. Good luck.

I have copied and pasted the user name and password they send me and still wont work. Pretty bummed... having nice weather and would really like to fly this thing.

I gave in today called Spektrum support. The tech called over to the computer guys and in 15 minutes I had the same link in my inbox that I got every time I hit forgot my password but this time it worked....WTF

Anyway radio updated and ar637t ready to fly.

It was a good day...
