We should try to do a Helifreak meet-and-greet next year.

It was several more times my skill but I still flew Just don't fly at center stage and its all good Though, honestly, no one would make fun or anything or even think anything if you did. I would be too nervous to try myself as there are many people milling about down there.

This is Friday night flight. Patric had an INSANE flight after Chris Diamanti I wish I had recorded that. This one was still great though. Patric is really such a great pilot and a super friendly guy.

I simply don't even worry about skill levels anymore at all; I KNOW where my level.s. are at mostly, and they will never be anywhere near lot of the ones I flew around at the event. Very fine with that

Big plus on centerstage flying.........I had to fly at, I think, 2 cones, maybe one, from center and that was way too close for me! When I got to fly in the real short grass area, I knew I was too close

Somehow got to meet 'Hobee' from Germany by chance, was pretty cool, and Cagedrv6, hope he finally gets/ or got his Oxy tail dialed in!

Got some good flying in and took all helis home in one piece. And didn't even take anything else home except a new battery and a give-away Scorpion work mat, which will come in very handy.

Another one in the books that was still very worth coming to yet again

Nice meeting you!

I hate missing IRCHA. Looks like it was a blast. Quick note: Don't be afraid to fly center stage no matter what your skill level is. Get out there and send it. All those pro pilots whose skills are so far beyond yours think it's awesome to see new pilots giving it the beans. As long as you aren't flying dangerously, they'll love it.

Hello,

I attended IRCHA for the first time and overall very impressed and seemed like a very well run event. This was the first time as well to see such top notch pilots in person. Hearing all the sounds in person so close up can't be replicated in videos.

My favorite parts were:
1) Under the lights flying - even with the technical difficulty with the lights on Sat night. The video above (Patric) from Friday night was one of my fav's overall, it was so technical and smooth - very pleasant to watch
2) Being able to fly at 7:30 AM - it's so peaceful in the morning with not so many pilots flying and the temps was much cooler.
3) Battle of the brands competition - the winning flight was so well put together with the sound effects and the whole rotor stopping and restarting in mid air was just amazing.

I thought the crowd size was almost perfect - was able to get a lot of flying in and really work on and improve on things while there. One of my biggest surprises was to see how many crashes there were - all these guys pushing so hard and S*#T happens. I'm hoping to start worrying pushing to improve rather than worry about crashing from now on.

Do they still do the fireworks?

No fireworks--they haven't had that for a few years now. Not sure if it's lack of funds, neighbor complaints, or both.
The fireworks show has been replaced by "King of the Midnight Sun" where pilots compete under the floodlights at center stage.

I have to say I never experienced the fireworks but on my first IRCHA two years ago the King competition was jaw-dropping. This year couldnít see it as I had to drive back but somehow I think the replacement was a great choice. The King competition is an all-out event where pilots give it their best. Itís the last day of IRCHA so they are not worried about preserving their models for a demo next day. Itís great to see.

IRCHA is the only place I've ever witnessed helis flying through fireworks. It was pretty spectacular. Flights at IRCHA are always fantastic! Enjoy!

The night fly competition with music and lit up helis was pretty awesome. I had to drive home so I didn't see the king of the midnight sun.
