What in the new EU regulations is broken by FASST ? Listen before you talk ? Does this mean that all non-telemetry protocols are toast in the EU ? Since the H/W is not there to listen.

I need to check on that. My comments applied only to the programming of the gyro.

This is my understanding, and it could be flawed because I admit that Iím not fully up to speed with it.

In 2015 EU mandated that all new RC equipment had to operate on an LBT basis. Guessing that existing hardware was fine because you canít really retrospectively apply legislation. I have a Futaba T8FG and several genuine and clone FASST receivers and they all continue to work fine.

Futaba made firmware updates to comply with LBT but as FASST straddles this timescale you have some FASST receivers that comply and others that donít.

Iím guessing that Futaba had some licence to support both. But Iím assuming that with a brand new transmitter Futaba are either not allowed to or donít want to support none-LBT receivers. So rather than say they support FASST (which they could for all the LBT-compliant receivers out there) they decided to drop it completely to save complaints like ďIíve bought a new transmitter, it says it supports FASST but it doesnít work with my FASST receiversĒ.

As others have said, I expect Futaba to not support FASST on any new transmitters.

Cheers,

Nigel

Got confirmation that yes, you do need to use the GPB-1 programming box to update the CGY760 gyro.
