Default 18SZ - will it take a 2-cell LiPo?

Hello you HeliFreaks,

Can i put a 2-cell LiPo like the 16IZ has in the 18SZ without any damage to the radio?

Does more voltage make the screen any brighter?

Thanks you HeliFreaks,
DaMayor

More voltage will not affect the screen brightness. The TX is designed for a 2S LiFe pack. The 16IZ is designed for a lipo. Not sure you gain anything with a lipo iver the LiFe pack.

The 18SZ with a LiFe 2 s battery is 7.2 V max going to a 2S Lipo fully charged is 12.4 V

5 Volt differential may be more than the system can accommodate!

Morning All,
FYI...the TellaRotor RC PodCast guys discussed this topic in episode 36 at about 42 minutes in. They confirmed that the 18SZ will take a 2 - cell (7.4v) LiPo. I have tested it in my 18SZ and it works fine.
