Default New 5.3.x Firmware Coming Soon

In the release notes for an update to StudioXm, there's mention of a new Microbeast firmware version coming soon. See the attached screenshot.

Rumor has it this update will enable autonomous takeoff, return to base, and autonomous landings. Just kidding!

Now that would cause me to consider changing to another product!

Not StudioX but StudioXm - there is a difference.

There is a Studio X update to 3.6 Brother, I have Bluetooth and usb. There was no update for the 7210, however.

Ah OK, I'll check it out - the StudioX update, that is. I don't use StudioX much as I have stayed on the v4.2 firmware for my AR7210's. Think my current version of StudioX is 3.3.6.

Has anyone been able to figure out what the changes are for firmware update 5.2.3? I couldn’t find anything in the BeastX wiki.

I emailed BeastX and received this response:

"with 5.2.3 servos will be hold in trimm position during power up and intialization, not in zero position (1520µs)"

That's an interesting change.

Ah ha, yes, an interesting change. I had never even noticed that they were not in the trimmed position, but it makes more sense to have them there.

Yep.

They've updated the change log on the BeastX Wiki to show 5.2.3 is the latest firmware. Since they didn't bother to mention the change in servo trim during initialization, it seems like 5.2.3 was just a bug fix.

And I hope they change the setting to 1520us when flashing the new firmware as well. I learned the lesson when I flashed new firmware to the unit for the first time. What a nonsense all servos kicked to random direction and almost fried themselves. I know it is in the manual.....but still...don't tell me it can not be done better.
