Default Kolbiri 140HVi , Jive Pro 120. Which is stronger?

I'm running a 6s/7s setup on my oxy 5 meg.
Rail 626 blades
Pyro 650-103 Competition
Max headspeed 2300 on 7s

I've found this to be a demanding setup for my JP 120. It comes down kind of warm. Would the Kolbiri 140HVi be better suited for this? Would it be much better or just a little better?

I know that 140>120, but Ive learned not to assume that it's necessary stronger just because there's a bigger number printed on the outside.

If I leave the JP 120 on the oxy, I might just put the 140HVi on my Logo 700 w/ scorpion 525kv ultimate motor. This seems like a pretty safe application for it.

Both are great performing ESCs. Do you have the heatsink on the JPro? The Kolibri already have a heatsink on it and would be fine on a 700 doing mild 3D and big air stuff.

Yes the JP has a heatsink. It got a little warm and I saw some big spikes in amperage on my oxy 5 meg on 7s, but I think the JP is up to the task.

I think I'm going to throw the kolbiri 140HV on my new Logo 700 with the Scorpion 4525 ultimate. I'm thinking it will be ok to handle 2100 headspeed with 710mm blades. I don't fly terribly hard and I will probably do most of my flying around 1900 or 2000

I tried it with a pyro 750-56 which is a similar motor and it was not enough. I would not suggest it. I was also only running 690 blades at 2100. Temps were at 65C after only 2 minutes with ambient temps around 65F.

626mm blades spinning at 2300rpm is pretty demanding on a 7S power setup regardless of the ESC.

Yeah I've got a Kosmik 160 I can throw on my Logo. Maybe I'll just put the Kolbiri 140 on my low headspeed Diabolo or e700

This simplest guidance is to not install a 140 Kolibri HVi in any application that you would not use a JP 120HV. Its continuous current rating is easily satisfied. Keeping it cool is the issue.

Oh I see. If heat is the issue, I think I found the perfect application for this.

Goblin Raw
Egodrift 4525 515kv HS (the lower power one)
3700 packs
2000 max headspeed.
690 blades

Do you think this lighter low-ish headspeed setup with an open canopy could work?

Can you define "stronger".

Your ESC should have its output that exceeds what your motor requires....so that your ESC is not "stressed".

Always get an ESC that exceeds the power that you need.

Over rate this by at least 20%.

And you will be OK.
