Default Helis Buzzin The Border #10 Sept 23- 26 2021

Hi Everyone,

Chula Vista Model and RC Club is hosting the 10th annual ""Helis' Buzzin The Border 2021". I had such a great time at the San Diego Fun Fly (Thanks Chris Wilson) I had to keep it going..

We will have 4 days of great flying. We will have 4 large flight stations on our 600' runway
RV Camping available (dry camping early arrivals OK).

Still working on the details, but the people and food will be great. I'm looking forward to an awesome weekend.

Thanks everyone, I will keep you updated.

Don

Myself, Scott Lee, Heli-Fun (Greg) and Tommy (Valon82) volunteered to do the cooking for the event.

So far (disclaimer: small changes may happen if things dont go to plan)

Thursday Dinner:

Crack & Mac & Cheese
Macaroni and cheese mixed with sautéed yellow onion, white onion and thick cut bacon and a little blue cheese. Topped with panko crumbs. Baked in the oven.

Friday Morning:
Breakfast sandwiches.
Egg how you want it (scrambled, over easy, sunny side up, but not poached, we dont boil eggs or bacon anymore), taters and cheese.

Friday Lunch:
Still sorta deciding here.

Friday Dinner:
Spaghetti and meat balls with garlic bread and salad

Saturday Morning:
Breakfast burritos
- Egg, taters, bacon, sausage, cheese

Saturday Lunch:
Donnie Payne (From Chollas RC Flyers) volunteered to smoke a pork butt for pulled pork sandwiches.

Saturday Dinner:
Pork loin roast - Seared with olive oil and blackening seasoning then baked. Salad, brussel sprouts (baked, seasoned with olive oil, salt, pepper parmesan cheese), mashed potatoes and pork gravy.. maybe a bread roll.

Don and I got some of the food today.

I asked "So how about lunch on Thursday for those early arrivals?" I suggested sausage sandwiches. We will grill some mild italian sausages (to get a crunch) thursday morning and then let them finish cooking in a crockpot with pasta sauce, sliced bell peppers and onion. Served on a roll with parmesan cheese.

Im a fat guy and a drunk. I like making good food.
