Default Elf & Sto gov standardization

I’m using the Align Rce Bl100a that comes the combo kit in the Trex 550X.
I’ve been using Sto gov with my 3300 pulse 50C 6s batteries.
I have a set of 5000 Gens Ace 60C 6s that I’d like to use also.
-Can both sets be used with Sto gov? With the reading taken off one of my 3300mah batteries?
Or
-Would I have to switch to Elf gov?
And in Elf gov, as I understand I still need to do the standardization.
-Am I correct in thinking it can be done with a hover?
And
-How long do I need to hover for? For the standardization to b accepted?

Thank you for your help

Thank you “Tony’s-heli” for the response.
It did not answer any of my questions. That video is, how to set up Sto Gov and how to go through the settings with the programmer.

I already have my heli set up on Sto Gov and used a pulse 3300mah 50c battery.

Here’s my question(s) worded differently, as I probably didn’t explain it properly before.
-It is possible to use a 5000mah 60c Gens Ace, using the pulse batt setup? (I’m thinking not )
Or
-Would I have to switch to Elf gov? ( I’m thinking so)
And in Elf gov, as I understand I still need to do the standardization, on every flight
-Am I correct in thinking it can be done with a hover?
And
-How long do I need to hover for? For the standardization in elf gov to b accepted? (As in sto gov it’s 10-30sec)

Thank you

i think you just switch to elf gov, then just fly with the same flat throttle curve.. ive never used it, but i hear it plays nicer with older lipos.
not sure what the pulse batt setup is.

just give the elf a try, cant hurt anything.

Usually the ‘Store Governor’ has issues with older batteries according to Hobbywing. (Not sure exactly where I read that)

At the end of the day, the Governor tries to do one thing, maintain a constant headspeed. The Store Governor, stores a scale factor so that from flight to flight, battery to battery, you get the same RPM for a given throttle percentage. 70% will give the same RPM regardless of the health of the packs. If the packs are old, they sag and you end up pushing them harder than you expected (but really no harder than if you were using a FBL Governor set up for the same headspeed). The ELF re-computes the scale factor each flight, so as a result the headspeed for each throttle setting will vary from flight to flight.

Going to a bigger pack (3300 to 5000) shouldn’t require you to re-Standardize. I do something similar with my Oxy5 & Gaui X5 when I run 5000 & 6000mAh packs, though not as big a difference as a 3300 to 5000.

The real issue is when someone wants to run 5S and 6S packs (or some other combination of Cell counts). The Store Governor will ‘try’ to maintain the RPMs but either will need to run low power output percentages or end up running all out because the battery doesn’t have the voltage to run the target speed.

JimJW;
So using stov gov with both my pulse 3300 50c and Gens Ace 5000 60c will be ok?
And
I heard in ELF gov you need to hover a second or two for the esc standardization, I wanted to know how long that second or two should be.

The 3300’s range from 1yr to 6 months and the 5000’s are a couple months old.

Tony’s-heli;
What I meant by pulse battery setup was
Setting up the esc in sto gov using my pulse 3300m 50c battery.

I’ll try sto gov

no you dont hover !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for Store gov set your endpoints then set a bank or idle up curve for 50% throttle and keep the pitch centred (zero degrees) spool up straight in to the 50% bank / idle up and let it sit and find its level .... 5 seconds or so..... shut it down set the bank / idle up to whatever head speed you want and go fly

Blion, I used to use the Elf mode on one my my 700s and never once did I do any sort of "standardization" of any kind and it worked perfectly. Its just a simple gov that will give you whatever RPM the pack in the model at the time can support based on whatever flat TC you are using

I had three different flat TCs in my TX which I gradually tuned to give me the three different in flight RPM values I wanted and could be supported by my gearing based on my RPM telemetry and that was it

I would simply spool up normally with my TH switch using any one of the three flight modes I wanted, lift off the ground immediately and fly. Nothing more, nothing less, and the RPMs held just fine in my logs

I only chose Elf because I would switch pack voltages on that model, but all your packs are the same voltage so you could use either Store or Elf if you wanted
tonys-heli likes this.

That's correct ELF gov does not require the RPM standardisation...

rachel;
I know how to do STO gov, I never asked that.
My questions were about ELF gov
And if swapping between my packs was ok to do in STO gov.
But i think I’m good now as Xrayted answered my questions

Xrayted; thank you very much for your help

Thanks to all for your help
