OpenTX? Last I checked there was no Wizard for creating helicopters. You have to do it manually, or at least thatís how I do it. . Hold the right click button, select models (I think that is what itís called), select create new model.

When I last used fros it was a lot more user friendly the OTX, but I don't belive anywhere near as versatile.

There are dangerous bugs in FrOS's heli setup on the X10, not sure about the X12S but the X10 nearly cost me a 700 when it changed the direction of one of the channels behind my back and would have lead to complete destruction on takeoff if I hadn't noticed. There were also bugs that corrupted curves and at that point I switched to Open TX and have had no problems since. Apparently FrSky does not have anyone working on FrOs that flies helicopters so the heli software is poorly tested.

Creating a heli setup on Open TX isn't hard just create a multirotor setup using the wizard and add collective and throttle mixes.

The X12s also has helicopter greyed out. You just have to create the model and then you have the option to switch it to heli and setup as normal.

FROS is really easy to navigate. I had to swap a few channels in the tx due to the throttle being on ch3 when most fbl recognize throttle as ch1. I wouldn't even call it an issue as it's simply how the tx is programmed.

Setting up rescue with my spirit was a lot easier with FROS than it was with my DX8 G2. Literally took me a few hours with my DX8 remapping aux/gyro etc. I had it done in 10min on my x12s.

I would say updating the firmware is a must for FROS. It most likely alleviated any bugs as atomic had stated.
